Was Jet Nation always full of Pat Trolls or did they really flood the place after the fall of JI? Just wondering....these knuckleheads are constantly popping up in every thread like a virus.

PR37 is a longtime member of JN, and a very good poster. He's just messing with us, but he's a good football fan.

Most came w JI. Actually more Pats fans came than Jets I think. Plus, Tis the season. It's all very psychological.

Regarding Big Cat Shaun Ellis, anyone who says they wouldnt take 3 million dollars to play football regardless of what fans allegiances are is full of sh!t.

Mangold may say that now but lets see where he is at when the Jets cut him and he is looking for his last contract. He will go to the dough.

If Klecko can sign with the Colts and Joe with the Rams...............

Agreed... after tax, a $3 mil pay day is still close to $1.7 million.  Thats a LOT of money, especially to guys with limited income sources after the NFL.

Heard on Cowher today that 76 percent of all NFL players a dead broke 5 years after retirement.

The $1.7 mil, put in a 10 year annuity would set you up for life.

Better off in a low risk mutual fund and live off the yearly gains.

Well, the average NFL career is about four years, and guys out of the league that fast or sooner probably weren't making top dollar to begin with. The league has seminars for kids coming in every year to help them plan for life after football, but even the league minimum is a lot of money. Easy to see why kids might spend it, and why it's tough to take a $30k/year job when their playing days are over.

I don't begrudge Ellis taking his payday with the Pats, though, just like I don't begrudge Revis choosing the mercenary life.
