ut here's the hitch: Even if the Patriots beat the Seahawks 60-0 in Super Bowl XLIX, the win will be declared a tainted one by many. The noise will continue, and the chants of "Beli-cheat" will endure.

The coach probably won't care, but it's not just his legacy that will be stained. His players also are saddled with the perception that something far more unseemly than their preparation and sacrifice were the reasons for their success.

And that's the most deflating reality of all.

that's from long time jets fan jackie macmullen

That's what I'm saying. Now it doesn't matter if the Pats win.

Patriots should lose 1st round choices for 3 years. Belichick should be banned from the NFL for life. Brady should be suspended for 16 games each because he should have brought it to the officials attention. They are complicit in this.

This... enough is enough already.  This is a question of integrity and apparently he has twice now engaged in conduct that would allow one to question his.  Cheating should not be allowed to stand.

Obviously, you did not attend law school.

Exactly how did those 11 balls become deflated and who was directly responsible?

If the NFL can not answer that question with specific evidence, the Pats will walk away without even a slap on the wrist.

They could use the Ignorance point that Goodell used with Sean Payton. That could be the scapegoat

sean payton was cutting classes with me that day.

I heard that in his case he was told, "ignorance is no excuse."  that's what the NFL commissioner said, some guy named roger

If your going to cheat and destroyed the integrity of the league you might as well be good at it.  At this point rest of the league need to put more time and effort into cheating.  Patriots are making them look bad.

No they can't.

Who is to say the weather didn't cause the balls to become deflated?

Until the NFL can link somebody or something to the deflation, the Pats can not be found guilty.

Damn, gotta love the guy who invented resonable doubt.

How can Goodell punish without any evidence whatsoever?

All he has is some whiny complaint from a team who got blown out in the AFCCG.

Hell, the league has far more evidence with Woody tampering with the Pats than they do on Deflategate.

There will be no punishment whatsoever if the league does not have any concrete evidence.

Pats win again.

And I'm sure you're incredibly proud....

You've got one problem. This is not a court of law. The rules of evidence and reasonable doubt do not apply.

If one team's footballs are deflated and the other team's aren't you can't say its the weather, numbnuts.

Then why weren't the Colts balls deflated as well? And that has been proven.

Doesn't take Columbo to put this together

You bet I am.

Without any solid evidence whatsoever, that means the Pats did not cheat and found yet another way to gain a competitive advantage.

Your team just might want to try that.

That is skirting the written rules of the NFL. The bottom line is the organization did it. It's just a matter of who's going to be the fall guy.

The facts show that the weather couldn't have done it. Somebody did it. We know that.

The thing is though if there is enough circumstantial evidence, you can get a conviction too.

The fact that the Colts balls were not deflated eliminates the weather being the total cause.

The fact that 11 of the 12 balls were deflated takes out the proposition of an accident.

The Pats history acts as like a character witness

The Pats did it. There's no question about it in my mind. The question is who in the Pats organization did it.

you can sense TX's palpable desperation.  he has backed waaaaaay into a corner

so far in a corner that he is siding with cheating over integrity on technicalities now

I thought in texas men were men and there was honor ?

The NE trolls can deflect and minimize this all they want but they better be prepared

for a HEAVY penalty.  This is not a court case that will appear before a judge so forget

about trying to apply legal logic.  This organization has a long history of being caught

cheating and their prior acts will come into play when the NFL rules.  The simple fact

is this, why is NE ALWAYS involved when some shady/illegal activity is found out in

the league???  Joke all you want trolls but you're going to get hammered
