Jets have interest in Terrell Owens..(link)

A league source said today that the Eagles plan to give Owens' agent Drew Rosenhaus permission tomorrow to seek a trade for the receiver. The source said multiple teams have expressed interest in Owens, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets.

...

The Jets, meanwhile, ranked 28th in passing, although much of their problem revolved around the fact that they did not have a suitable replacement once starting quarterback Chad Pennington went down.

Whatever the Eagles could get for Owens would certainly be better than getting nothing, which, in retrospect, is what they gave up to get him

When the Eagles acquired Owens in a controversial three-team trade that followed an arbitration hearing at the University of Pennsylvania, they gave the San Francisco 49ers defensive end Brandon Whiting and the Baltimore Ravens a fifth-round pick.

This would be the most retarded idea in history..

1.We have to pay him big bucks

2.We have to give up draftpicks for him

3.We have no QB

4.We are supposed to be rebuilding

5.Can you imagine this nut in New York?

T.O would be nothing, but a sideshow here..

1 no one is gonna give him big money after last year. he's gonna have to take a deal much like ty law took this year.

2 mortenson said it would only be a 4th or 5th rounder

3 they will bring in a QB

4 you don't rebuild in the NFL you retool and rework there is NO REASON that with the right moves the jets can't be a playoff contender next year.

5 it's high risk high reward he could be a total disaster or he could come here and have a huge year.

"Bookend WR's" mean two.

Who the hell else do the Jets have?

Dude. Coles is better than any reciever on the patriots, and you know it.

Coles and TO would be the best 1-2 punch in the NFL if we have a healthy Chad.

I'm all for bringing TO on board. Give him a heavily based 1 year incentive deal (like the rumors are saying that could be the types of offers).

With TO on board, and Dbrick and a top G in the draft we'd have a very good offense with a healthy Pennington. Superbowl aspirations would not be unrealistic baby!

It would only make sense to bring in Owens for a year if you thought that you were going to the Super Bowl. This team is not going to the Super Bowl next year so there is absolutely no need for him.

our passing game is hideus, we need someone to take pressure off the crappy offensive line and old running game

Or....we could use the money it would take to get owens, to make that Oline not soo crappy...and to bring youth to the running game with a new back

you are 100% right. when you have a deep threat like TO it takes preassure of your entire o line and RB.

i mean just look at that great oakland raiders offense this year. MANNNN and we thought the st louis rams were the greatest show on turf!!

you can't just go out there and buy the chiefs o line. if you could every team would. with mawae kendal jones moore and either one draft pick or fabini we have an OK line. there are not going to be any franchise olinemen in the free agent market. signing TO would make every player on our offense better.

well moss was hurt all year and their defense was a total joke. and the raiders drafted what alot of people thought was a 100% for a franchise LT in gallery... as for the rams bulger was hurt and their defense also was a joke.

look at the last two teams terrible owens has been with. The 49ers, and the Eagles. Both are now rebuilding. I love Mawae, and think hes gonna come back in all-pro form. I also like jones and kendall. But Kendall and Mawae(our best two by far) are getting old, and dont have much longer left in the tank. We have got to stop trying to think about the next year and look to the future...and the future is in BUILDING an o-line like KC's, WHICH IS POSSIBLE!!!!! You get a great oline(like kc's or denvers) and you can get a rb to do a good job. You have a great oline, good running game, it opens up your passing game. Anybody who knows anything about football knows its focused around the running game

i was talkin about their superbowl year, when they were proclaimed the "greatest show on turf". You are old enough to remember that right? But it was a play on the fact that having a "great reciever like owens" doesnt equal a great offense. Ok...so moss got hurt....how awesome was their offense before he got hurt? And do you mean to tell me Owens couldnt get hurt? **and dont say its not possible...after watching 2 qb's go down in the same quarter...i dont want to hear it, b/c it IS possible

you must hang out with bandwaggon patsy fans like yourself who know squat about the NFL. coles is a great WR as anyone without a blatant bais against the jets knows.

Another dumbass comment by a blinded Jets fan.

Coles is just another WR in the NFL, nothing more, nothing less.

Dieon Branch is much better.

Check their stats.
