CLEVELAND -- Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel entered treatment on Wednesday, adviser Brad Beckworth told ESPN.com through a Manziel spokesman.

"Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step," Beckworth said.

"On behalf of Johnny and his family, we're asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland."

Least surprising story in years.

Guy will be washed out of the league in under 5 years, bank it.

I read somewhere "he just feels like the off-season is the right time" or something like that... yeah, wouldn't want rehab to interfere with in-season partying. WTF kind of logic is this?

The kid is an idiot.  He should light a candle that most life supporting functions in the human body are involuntary.  The dope would probably forget to breath most days.

Amazing how many Jets Fans wanted this guy hardcore.

/chuckle.

I don't recall many of us wanting the dummie to draft Manziel.  I do recall some of us looking forward for Idzik to draft either Branden Cooks or Kelvin Benjamin.

It was ridiculous the man crush Jet fans had for this guy. It couldn't believe that it had anything to do with football. He simply had the "coolest guy" image. That ESPN analyst that said that he wouldnt have taken Manziel in the first 3 rounds should have stood his ground, because taking him #22 in the draft was a total mistake by the fans, especially with Bridgewater still on the board. How the hell you even make a decision like that I have not a clue.

Nah, there were a few here who REALLY wanted this loser.

I can't remember but the only one I could probably think are the ape and the great talented advisor Tom Shame who still wish for Idzik/Bevel running the Jets.

How could the Cleveland scouts have been this clueless to not see this beforehand?  It wasn't like he was trying to keep his issues private.  Did they really think this was a phase he was going to grow out of?

with their owner, it could have been an owner driven pick (for a franchise in need of attention).  There was a rumor before the draft that Pettine liked Bridgewater.   But then again all kinds of rumors fly on draft day.

Can't stand him as a player. He's probably not a bad person though. Too much vitriol IMO. HE JUST TURNED 22 YEARS OLD. Most of you guys on here were probably something like that at that age. And if you say no, then you're either lying or very boring.
