Curtis Lofton An ILB Option?

NO has tons of cap issues so this isn't a shock.  He'll probably end up getting cut

because no one ever trades with teams that have cap issues.  I wonder if he fits

Bowles system:

The #Saints are shopping LB Curtis Lofton, who had 144 tackles in 2014 and

has played in 16 games every year of his career. Unexpected.

Here's his career numbers:

I hope Mac looks into Rolando McClain.

Sometimes it takes players time to GET IT.

He really played well last year with absolute GARBAGE around him. With the boys we have up front he could just run around & hit, plus he can also back peddle into coverage.

He had an interception 30 yards down the field last year to win a game.

I know he was a head case but I've got faith in Bowles communication skills. I'd love to to fix the defense up the middle with guys that can cover & play in space like McClain & McCourty.

The double Macs!

It will be a matter of time until he gets cut, NO has a long way to go to get under the cap:

Any team in need of linebacker help? Curtis Lofton is now available.

The 28-year-old, who has yet to miss a regular-season game in his professional career, is being shopped by the Saints' organization, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday, per a source informed of the team's thinking.

Lofton will count $9.25 million against the Saints' salary cap this season, and could be a part of some massive money shuffling. The team is currently more than $21 million over the threshold for 2015.

Lofton's dead money is roughly $5 million, which makes the trade route the first -- and most convenient -- route for New Orleans to take, though it's uncertain they'll find takers at that price.

Even in a versatile Rob Ryan scheme, Lofton played a heavy amount -- almost 1100 snaps -- in 2014 and registered 100 tackles and a forced fumble.  He's currently signed through the 2017 season.

Well, attendance isn;t everything.  I see almost no NO games.  Is he good?  Shouldn't a good ILB have more than 100 tackles?
