The Dallas Cowboys and defensive end Greg Hardy have agreed to a one-year, $11.3 million deal that could be worth up to just over $13 million, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Pro Football Talk was first to report the deal.

Hardy and the Cowboys have had ongoing negotiations, and he stayed overnight in Dallas before his scheduled physical, which took place Wednesday morning.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had been pursuing Hardy as well but pulled out of the running Wednesday.

"At the end of the day, we didn't feel good about it," general manager Jason Licht told the Tampa Bay Times.

Hardy, 26, was a 2013 Pro Bowl selection after leading Carolina with 15 sacks, tying a team single-season record.

The Carolina Panthers placed the franchise tag on Hardy in February 2014, guaranteeing him $13.1 million for the season. On May 13, he was arrested and charged with assaulting and threatening to kill ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder.

A Mecklenburg (North Carolina) County judge found Hardy guilty on July 15. The verdict was set aside when Hardy requested a jury trial.

All charges were dropped on Feb. 9 because Holder refused to cooperate with the district attorney's office after receiving a financial settlement from Hardy.

It's a one-year deal for Greg Hardy in Dallas, that can be worth up to $13.1 million but that has a minimum base salary.

Cowboys are getting hammered on social media for this move. Glad the Jets didn't consider this person (won't call him a man).

DAL just brought the circus to their facility.  Yes he's an amazing pass rusher but he's absolutely toxic and the

media and special interest groups are going to be all over him and the team

It seems like Gilchrist's contract is not what was originally reported (in particular $8.5 gtd was reported but seems wrong).

From OTC, there's a $2.5M signing bonus, a $1M roster bonus, and a $1M first year salary.  Nothing is guaranteed after that.  So even if you include the roster bonus, there's only $4.5M in guaranteed money.  He can be cut after even 1 year without much dead money ($1.9M).

Raiders free-agent WR Denarius Moore is scheduled to meet Thursday with NY Jets, per source. Jets need a speed WR to go along with other WRs

Would not be opposed to this, the kid is only 26 and has put together four decent seasons, plus he's a solid complement to the guys we currently have.  Not sure why he fell out of favor last year, if it's a work ethic thing then I can see why he hasn't been a hot commodity, because he certainly has some talent.

Which is exactly why people should hold any criticism of the Cromartie contract until we see the exact details.

Mentioned him a couple weeks ago, hope we can land him. I'll take him all day over Kenny Stills since he's not just a pure deep threat.

Some day the Jets will hit on ex- Raider wr1. Chaz Schilens 2. Jacoby Ford 3 and Now Denarius Moore. Can't blame Sanjay Lal for this one.

To be able to figure out the cap implications for 2015 we would need to know the signing bonus and what their 2015 salaries are. The signing bonus is divided by the number of years in contract and then add in 2015 salary.

we don't know the details, but its safe to say the jet are shopping in the discount bin now, the fun is over.  they can always trade someone to make room, but then you are basically breaking even.

OverTheCap.com updated with Gilchrist (no Cromartie yet). I didn't realize there was a 1.5mil roster bonus as well. So instead of Gilchrist counting 1.625 against the cap, it's 3.125 this season.

looks like the jets are at about $9 million after cro and purdem.  not too bad.  take away $4 million for rookies and $5  million for in season moves, and the jets are basically keeping thier heads above water.

basically anybody they sign now means someone is getting cut

looking at post june 1 cuts, the players who are the most attractive to cut are;

calvin pace, especially if the jets draft a pass rusher

jeff cumberland also saves money

Antonio allen is also on the hot seat

darrin walls should start packing

That's an odd one. I'd imagine tge only questions teams will have about Gurley are all medical, anyway. I'd be interested to see of Gurley is brought in for a workout.

Teams visit and work out players they have no intention of drafting all the time. They also draft players they've never spoken to all the time too.

They are at $17+ under before Cro and Purdum. They'll be around $12 mil with those two, unless they loaded Cro up on the front end. They have no 4th and 5th, so they'll need around $3m-$3.5 for the draft class.

They have no 5th or 6th, they still have the 4th.
