BowlesMovement
Really need to move Comforto up in the lineup and move Duda down, or even let Johnson play first. He is struggling so bad right now.

RutgersJetFan
Barring an early disaster the only relievers we're seeing tonight are Matz and Tolo. Hard to say how either will do but certainly not cause for panic as if it were Reed and Clippard. Samsonite?! I was way off!

RutgersJetFan
Maddon has his work cut out for him. It seems like these Cubs hitters would prefer to go for it and strike out rather than work counts and generate even some weak contact, and the problem is our pitching staff would prefer than do that too. Also we've certainly had our share of injuries but I think losing Russell murdered them. But Hendricks is a solid #3 guy, if deGrom doesn't have his best stuff on Tuesday it's not going to be an easy game. Saw him a few times this year and he's got a great changeup. It was great to see the relievers ALL chip in. Niese, Reed, Clip were all instrumental and rebounded from their prior performances. Big confidence booster for them all. ood for Collins to show some faith in them and give them a whirl. And Collins really needs to change this lineup and get Duda out of there. Johnson needs to start. He can always make defensive changes with Lagares and Duda in the late innings. This is what I'd like to see. Hendricks doesn't walk too many hitters but our LH bats should have a good game against him especially if the wind is blowing out as lefties have good long ball numbers against him. He's been better of late and capable of pitching a gem but I'll take this match-up any day.

Jetsfan80
This series is far from over, but how are the Cubs going to climb out of this hole? Arrieta is exhausted out there. Lester scares no one. We're a solid road team. And they need to sweep the 3 games in Wrigley.
Jetsfan80
Also, yesterday was the trifecta. Jets win, Mets win....and I beat JiF in fantasy football to improve to 4-2, delivering him his first loss of the season.

Lester scares no one. We're a solid road team. And they need to sweep the 3 games in Wrigley. Series isn't over, but when you consider that the Mets only have to win 1 of 3 in Chicago, and then 1 of 2 in NY, the Cubbies are on a hot seat. You have to admire the job that Collins has done and keeping this team even keel and focused. He is pushing all the right buttons right now. The team is not even hitting on all cylinders, BUT, when you have pitching, it fixes everything. This staff is showing what it can be in the future. and that is pretty exciting. They had a few hits these first two games that would have been HRs at Wrigley, but then again I guess we did too.

It's going to be warm out here this week and with all the innings he's pitched this year the cold has to be murdering him. I will say Cubs fans are still crowning themselves winners of this series. Most of the local stuff the past 12 hours has been dedicated to arguing that we only won because of the cold, we shouldn't have home field because they have a better record, and the Cubs are still clearly the superior team. The only guys who seem to be giving credit to Thor and Harvey are the guys who actually manage and play for the Cubs.

JustInFudge
Sometimes you love being wrong in life and this season is a perfect example. I wanted to trade murph so bad in a contract year...and now look. The guy is NBA Jam style on fire. deGrom pitching game 3? Nasty. I said all year long, If this team could get in, they will be a tough out with this pitching staff. And here we are and I never really thought it would happen. series isn't over but wow being 2-0 feels great!!!

Steve Smith being surprisingly activated is the only reason I won that matchup. Without him I'm rolling with Anquan Boldin (who had a nice 12 pt day) and you move to 6-0. Don't think this loss will hurt you at all.

On a related note, I had a guy yell at me to go back to New Yawk and get a Gary Carter tumor yesterday. So I got that going for me, which is nice. Not to be a sh*t head about it but my biggest struggle is just who to play each week. Haha. This week I made the wrong choice and paid. Whereas other weeks I got away with it. i will say about the cold thingy, could you imagine hitting 98+ in the low 30's? I'm a Florida boy but I wasn't the only one freezing last night. faba
I encouraging this with the Mets built on their young starting pitching the team will be competitive for many years Back to this series-cold weather definitely affected the hitters so far but we have Murphy possessed and Granderson coming up clutch .. We need one game in Chicago to put us in great position.
RutgersJetFan
Juan Uribe could be ready for World Series if Mets advance 18h Adam Rubin, ESPN Staff Writer 17 Shares Email Print Comment NEW YORK -- Infielder Juan Uribe, who has not been active through two rounds of the postseason, may be ready for the World Series if the New York Mets advance. Uribe took grounders during batting practice with teammates before Sunday's Game 2 of the National League Championship Series. He also started swinging in a cage this weekend and has been throwing. Uribe has dealt with cartilage damage in his chest. He originally suffered the injury diving for a grounder while manning second base Sept. 20. The injury worsened five days later during a pinch-hitting opportunity in Cincinnati. The Mets carried outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis on the NLDS and NLCS rosters because of Uribe's unavailability. RutgersJetFan
Probably the right decision, sadly. Bring back Cespedes, take the compensatory pick for Murph. Truth be told Wright should walk into the front office and forfeit like $6 million per to Murph. If it weren't for him the big story of this postseason would be Wright completely disappearing when the offense needed him most, and between this year and '06 he'd get the choker label. Instead nobody cares because Daniel Murphy turned into Babe Ruth so who gives a sh*t about anything else.
