drdetroit
Jets fans are just naturally miserable people or what? Skrine isn't a big name and he's not some injury prone scrub on a 1-year deal like Patterson or Vick so yeah
Morrissey
Skrine started opposite Joe Haden, no? Maybe nickel is a better fit, but that's not what he did exclusively. Correct me if I'm wrong.
stoicsentry
I'm assuming that Revis is a Jet. So Skrine's deal allows the Jets to try to land Cro along with Revis as well and still have room to upgrade at OL/OLB That would be sweet. stoicsentry
Played opposite Haden, so he was targeted a ton. He's a solid addition. OK then, I'll take your word for it.
stoicsentry
I was convinced your stoic-ness was going to begin a return in this thread. I'm sad I'm entirely convinced that once you are again optimistic, we're winning a Super Bowl. So...no pressure or anything my man I'll give it a shot. Can't promise anything, but I'll give it a shot.
RutgersJetFan
So he's the Dimitri Patterson of 2015? Sweet. Take the day off man. Go outside. Listen to some Styx. Just a day. You can do it.

j4jets
Starter money. Obviously the Jets like him. Thats sh*t ton for a CB no one has heard of.
patman
Skrine is a very good slot corner, being vertically challenged leads to a lot of fouls down field though. But if you need a guy to match up against the Endlemans of the world he is a good fit.
Arsis
I have no idea who he is but I'm a fan just because of his name.

The Troll
I read he has 18 passes defensed in each of the past two seasons. That's quite good.
afosomf
Buster was a good signin The Jets GM is not iddy like mon
Zoom28
Hard to measure a how well a CB performs in my opinion. I watched alot of Skrine over the last few years. Used to suck, i remember him playing on the outside and not being very good, comparable to Kyle Wilson. But over the last season or two, he really improved quite a bit. Most Cleveland fans i know would refer to him as "Solid". I would never call Wilson Solid, so it is an upgrade.
JetsFanInDenver
I do not know extensively about this kid. Is he an upgrade over Kyle Wilson ? And is he someone who will start 16 games for us and justify his contract ? Thoughts.
BroadwayJets
For everyone on this thread calling him a nickel corner. He's not a nickel corner.
predator_05
For everyone on this thread calling him a nickel corner. He's not a nickel corner. He can play there if needed. He is versatile, our Buster.

19andOhWait
110 tackles, 36 pass deflections, 5 int's last 2 years combined at RCB. like this signing, new #2 corner. Browns wanted him back but we overpaid.. the market will produce these pricey looking contracts (see Smith, Torrey) but the cap is just going to go up and up. and as the drones on the networks say all the time now: its a passing league. so the more good corners we get/got, the better. OuttaSightPF
I thought we weren't doing anything the past couple days. Skrine in the nickel, Cro and Revis on the outside. BOOM. Would you love to hear Milliner traded or what? There's talk about Bree's being on the block. Big Mo and Milliner straight up?
ChuckkieB
With every cornerback we sign, the less likelihood that the Jets blow up this site and take a CB with the 6th pick. That's a good thing.
BRONX DUDE
You guys thought FOLES to Jets was 100% sure thing. Please don't believe everything you hear and read. You guys are smarter than that. Or are u?
TnT
Not saying theres any truth to it, but Chris Simms on BR said Revis and Skrine would be his top CB tandem in the league...thats some good praise. Simms is very high on Skrine.
Saul Goodman
My friend lives in Ohio, life long Browns fan, texted me this earlier: "Dude. I'd be stoked about signing Buster Skrine. I'm so bummed the Browns didn't keep him". Just a "for what it's worth" post. I haven't watched the guy play, and I'm leery of a player named "Buster" in general, but his text got me a little excited about the guy's potential. drdetroit
Skrine can do both nickel and 2nd CB capably or at least way better than Kyle "Bust" Wilson.
win4ever
I guess we learned a few tricks from him and decided to not look back at Kyle Wilson. I like the signing although I never really followed him too much with the Browns. Pettine played a man system most times I believe, and he was opposite Hayden so plenty of targets. Would need to see some game tapes against teams like Cincy, Houston, TB, Ravens, and Lions this past season. I figure Hayden took the No. 1 guy, would love to see how Skrine did against the second guy on those teams since they have talented folks. Or if he just played the slot. papz187
I didn't know really anything about the guy but below is a link to a Browns message board thread about losing him, sounds like he's a very good player. http://www.dawgtalkers.net/ubbthreads.php/topics/935515/3 Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
