I love that this thread started out in 2015 with me hoping that a bunch of Jets fans would be able to give me some advice on what to watch, and has morphed into this.

Haven't clicked on this thread in months, but it looks like the list of things I need to watch now are:

1) Andor (@Nolder your review of it not being too star wars-y actually brought this to the top of my list. As much as I love the original star wars, I've basically hated everything since with the exception of Rogue One and Mando season 1) - Disney
2) Kaleidescope - Netflix
3) The Bear - Hulu
4) Clarkson's Farm - Amazon
5) Last of us - HBO

I also still need to watch 1923. I haven't watched any of the YellowStone original show, but I loved 1883.

I am just getting around to Yellowstone.  Way behind the power curve.  It is not some layer upon layer show you need a venn diagram to understand.  It is simple enjoyable entertainment.   Like porn.  It blew my mind when I heard Kelly Reilly real voice outside the show. #SheIsBritish

Just stumbled onto a NetFlix show called Physical:100.  Basically, it's a real-life version of Squid Games without the killing.

https://www.netflix.com/title/81587446

You will say "no way, that's gonna be awful".  And it is.  But in a way you can't help yourself from watching.  Think the old Superstars competition to find the best overall athlete in a group.

Once you get into it, it's actually really entertaining.  The contests get creative as they go along and there are some really sick athletes in this.

Thank me later.

So we really didn't like the 1st season of Your Honor all that much, notwithstanding Cranston's usual brilliance.  Hated watching his idiot son ruin everything for them show after show.  Well apparently, they realized this when they wrote him off and so far season 2 has been really good.  We've watched 2 episodes.

Cranston is the sh*t. He really is.

Anyone else watching?

Up and down for sure. Episode 3 was incredibly good. The kid ruins the rest of the show for me. She's awful.

3 was awesome. It’s Pascal killing it for me. I’m not sure why they decided to play Joel as this one-note decaying wimp all the time, but goddamn man. Sack up.

The Last of Us has been mostly bad.

Watched the first episode.  Had no interest in watching anything past that.

Been having a real hard time finding anything decent to watch this past month.  Hunters season 2 was disappointing, which is understating how bad I thought it was.  Kaliedoscope was meh -- about a criminal mastermind who did not seem to be much of a mastemind.  The Recruit -- made it through season 1, but I have no interest in seeing season 2 when it comes out.  Not funny enough to be a comedy and not realistic enough to be a drama.  Non-sensical garbage. Just started watching Jack Ryan season 1.  Better than the Recruit, but thats not saying much.  Even tried the show "You".  One episode and done.

I usually watch binge one or two shows between the end of football and start of baseball -- last few years was a great run (Narcos, Expanse, Peaky Blinders, Breaking Bad, Succession), but so far nothing this year that has been worth my time.

Same situation. I have such an extremely hard time staying with shows because they’ll hit a narrative speedbump that I can’t get past, or they’ll try to staple an idiosyncrasy onto a peripheral character in an effort to flesh them out that simply doesn’t play and it eats at me. I had high hopes for Last of Us because I enjoyed the game and I loved “Chernobyl,” but it’s been a mess. The last series I made it all the way through was Breaking Bad. I watched 75% of Better Call Saul and Narcos, but never got back around to them. I got fed up with Peaky Blinders after they killed off Tom Hardy. Let me know if you find anything new.

Last of Us Ep8 was better than the previous couple.

I did not play the game so I do not have any opinion of the show as it relates to the game.  I just wonder if it would be better if it was independent of the game to allow the writers to flesh out different things.

It's a weird show. There have been some absolutely great episodes and some stunningly boring ones.

They definitely should have just gone in a different direction than the game. This last episode? In the game you play out that scenario as Ellie, but you/she escapes and has to stealth-murder every dude in the town during a driving snowstorm. It was awesome, but the show bypasses all of that to focus on Ellie vs the one guy

Last of Us season finale landed with a meh for me.

I liked the episode, but like a few of the episodes I felt like more could have been done.  Especially when it is quarter until nine (Central time) when it is over.

Overall I would give the show a solid C+.

If I could suggest a number 6 to your list (and to everyone) The Night Agent on Netflix was a surprisingly good show. Had some Jack Bauer from 24 vibes IMHO and while I think they ended it with a season 2 in mind it has a perfect ending point if they never make it.

Can I skip Yellowstone and still watch the Harrison Ford show? Or is this like where if you miss one Marvel movie, you'd be completely lost on the overall storyline?

You can skip Yellowstone but I kind of think you would be better off at least watching 1883 first.

Yeah. I don’t think I’ll be coming back for season 2. Don’t get me wrong when they followed the storyline the game set out was when the show really hit its high points (and I even kinda got over Pascal not fitting my idea of Joel) but so much time was wasted every episode it’s like the show was trying to do everything BUT show us Joel and Ellie’s story which is all anyone really wants from a last of us show. Anyway whatever this show is or was it’s only downhill from here so I’m jumping out now before the sh*t really hits the fan.

Aw man you didn’t like You? Love that show. It’s like the spiritual successor to Dexter. I can understand not everyone is into the internal monologue though. Also I’ll say if you didn’t like it after the first episode you made the right decision because it stays pretty much the same and anything you probably didn’t like only continues or gets “worse”.

My opinion may not be worth much to you after I just said I like You but like I started this post with The Night Agent was pretty good and I’d recommend that if you’re looking for something to watch.

I kind of felt the opposite—that the Joel and Ellie scenes were an anchor to the show. I get that Pascal’s m.o. is to be the smoldering, tortured anti-hero, but he was just so one-note that watching him became a slog. I’m guessing that Mazin engineered it that way to contrast  with Bella Ramsey’s spriteliness but I don’t feel like she’s ready to carry that much of the show. Reminded me of the Mulder-Scully dynamic, but if you cast, like, Maggie Gyllenhall as Scully. It didn’t help that Mazin was antagonistic toward all critiques, imo.

Yeah...I mean there is definitely a lot one could nitpick at I just tried my best not to because I already came into the show kinda negative due to disliking the casting. My way of dealing with it was giving the show just a ton of leeway it probably doesn't deserve lol. For example, yes, Ellie was brash and foul mouthed in the game but IMO the show took this character trait to an extreme. It seemed like every other word was "f**k" and it got tiresome real quick even with the limited amount of time we spent with Ellie per episode.

The infected were always really cool though A+ to the team for that.
