KRL
But with the way the media likes to perpetuate the idea that the Jets are disorganized and a circus: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/04/jets_conducted_more_organized_pro_day_for_local_nf.html The Jets and Giants both held their pro days for local NFL Draft prospects last week. The Giants went first, on Thursday. The Jets followed on Friday. It was the first local pro day for the Jets' new general manager, Mike Maccagnan, who is a rookie in that job. He previously was the Texans' college scouting director, so he has experience with this sort of thing . Players who attended both pro days came away thinking the Jets' session "was much more organized and felt more structured" than the Giants' pro day, according to a source with knowledge of both pro days. The feeling among players was that the Jets' pro day "was very impressive." Specifically, the players liked that the Jets' day had a structured schedule, the source said. The source, who is not affiliated with the Jets or Giants, spoke to NJ Advance Media on a condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk publicly about the pro days. That Maccagnan put on an organized local pro day should come as no surprise. He has an extensive scouting background, and a reputation for being thorough, detailed and business-like in his approach. Here's a look at the players who were scheduled to attend the Giants' local pro day. And here's a list of players scheduled to be at the Jets' local pro day. Beerfish
My opinion of our new GM and coach has been good so far but just after the last day of the draft will really form my opinion. We need to have a homerun draft for once.

Jetsfan80
Hate the NYG so I normally wouldnt post this either but there is that little thing they have called 8 championship trophies. So? This is exactly WHY we the new regime needs to be impressive in everything they do. If the roles were reversed, you'd be saying "Well, this is exactly why the Giants have had so much success over the years. They're an organization that knows what it's doing."

Ex-Rex
Rex Ryan and his big mouth had everything to do with the perception of a 'circus' atmosphere. There certainly was no accountability as has come out recently with Jace Amaro's revelation of players being late etc... With Bowles and Big Mac it will be all about business which will give the air of professionalism. The media hit it right on the head when they said the adults were now in charge.

Especially in light of Rex's unbecoming interview this week for SI, it really does give off the impression that the adults are now in charge in New York now that the circus has finally left town and set up camp in Buffalo. It really does look like, already, that the general impression of the Jets has begun to improve. A good draft and noticeable improvement in the team this season will go a long ways towards getting the franchise moving towards respectability.
papz187
I have a lot of faith in this new regime. Bowles breeds confidence to me, I just got that feeling he'll be a good HC. Woody hasn't really made any terrible hires for HC since he's owned the team, they all started out well with winning records and all but Groh made the playoffs in their first year too, and none of them had that franchise QB to carry them either. Mac I am optimistic about as well, but will get a better feel for him after the draft. This is gonna be an exciting year. Beerfish
Might be a little hard to hit a home run with only five picks. Nope not at all. (We have 6 to start with) You don't hit home runs with an extra 3 or 4 6th and 7th rounders. You hit a home run by hitting on at least 3 of your 1st 4 picks. 1-6 2-37 3-70 4-104 I want to come away from the draft for once thinking it was a good overall draft.

Beerfish
I want to think we had a good draft in three years not in three weeks. Then you are what we call a fence sitter. The team has to make an evaluation now. Waiting for 3 years all the answers are in and you can say, yay! or doh! Thus there is zero reason to watch or even worry about the draft. Most people want to have some interest now, not in three years.

But if you want to say the teams draft class is good or bad right when it ends go ahead. I know its fun to do.
Sperm Edwards
The AFL didn't exist when the Giants won those titles. Maybe a few mid-80s superbowls shouldn't count either since they didn't include the USFL.
