Peace Frog 3,649 Posted April 15, 2019 Bran is one of my least favorite characters on the show but was pretty cool when he told Sam he was “waiting for an old friend” and then Jaime shows up.

Kind of a throw away episode though with little action, basically setting it up for a massive episode next week.

Any idea where I submit the reimbursement form to get those two hours out of my life back? Not even 2 hours. 55 and 58 mins. Thought with only 6 episodes they were all going to be in the 75-80 minute range episodes.

She was the best character through the first three seasons. Now she’s just terrible. 33 minutes ago, Integrity28 said: Arya is the most popular character in state by state surveys. She won the most states, especially in the middle. ‘Mericans love them some revenge and the inability to forgive, the true sign of a Cristian nation. Ok, don't judge me here. So I never watched GOT from the beginning, kind of started at the Red Wedding then sporadically until the last couple of seasons when I was die hard and went back now and again to watch other episodes. My girlfriend has been watching it since the beginning and wanted to rewatch Season 1 so last week I watched it with her. And Arya was this little pipsqueak of a thing, like 10 years old. Kind of an ugly duckling but a good, tough character and I loved that she had the list and the needle. But still, a little kid. Fast forward to this week and we see...Arya's boobies and naked ass. Gotta say, I am ashamed to admit it going from her being a 10 year old to naked in a week was....a little interesting?

Peace Frog 3,649 Posted April 29, 2019 I know someone mentioned it a few pages back, can't find it but Ayra sneaking up on the Night King in the exact same spot where Jon was standing last week, dumbfoundingly asking her "how did you sneak up on me" was a GREAT Easter Egg. Apparently she had a plan.

Its like that movie Face Off, we walk out of the theatre and the wife says “so wait, he jumps off a 400 foot oil derrick after he just had a face transplant and his face doesn’t rip off?!?” And I said “So THAT’S the unbelievable part?”

Peace Frog 3,649 Posted May 13, 2019 So wait, did Cersi and Jaime really just die by the crypt falling in on them? No vengance by anyone? No face to face final sendoff? Buried in rubble never to be found? I guess that gets Tyrion out of trouble. Great visuals but it got a little played watching the dragon shoot fire for 40 minutes. Vary's didn't die because he said Jon would be a better ruler to Tyrion. He died because he was actively plotting to have her removed. I need to watch it again, but i'm pretty sure that girl Vary's was talking to was trying to poison Dany for him, when she said "but she's not eating her meals" Right before Varys dies he laments to Tyrion “I really hope I was wrong.” He wasn’t.

I’m an overly critical douchebag so I always have to consciously dial back my expectations of these things, and I think some of the critiques have been too harsh. In this instance, however, I think we can all be grateful for what they’ve tried to do with this project and still wish elements of it were handled with more care down the stretch. We’ve watched some of these characters grow up, and now we’re watching them die. It’s ok to have a visceral response to the means by which they’re leaving the stage. 5 minutes ago, JiF said: 100%. When you consider the amount of time spent viewing the series (in some cases twice) you want to feel rewarded for the commitment. Make no mistake about it, this is still on the greatest shows ever created IMO. I just think what made it great has long been forgotten and when it was time to rush the ending, they took liberties on the plot lines, got lazy with some characters and it's been a bit of let down. I dont think they did themselves any favors by making the audience wait 2 years as well. I think that is a HUGE factor. You build up one of the greatest stories ever told, filled with mystery to how it ends, you want the finale to feel fulfilling and to a large degree, they've failed. I enjoyed the battle of Winterfell, it was fun as sh*t. Last night, was fun, it was visually stunning. Storywise, it was just a bit of a let down. I’m enjoying it but the biggest difference in my mind from a truly great show like Breaking Bad (which someone else mentioned) is that this show had kind of plateaued where as BB got better and better virtually every episode and every season was better than the one before. That show started off really good and from there was a hockey stick how is just got better, more creative, more edge of your seat fantastic. The last few episodes of BB were so great, what they’ve done on GOT pales in comparison.
Peace Frog 3,649 Posted May 14, 2019 Question about dragon physiology. Can they just spit perpetual fire? Without eating a horse or a goat or something? I know the episode only showed the dragon reigning fire for about 30 minutes but I’m guessing in real time it was about 2 hours to destroy the iron fleet, all the spear guns, the entire city and the Red Keep. Never saw the dragon stop for a snack.

Peace Frog 3,649 Posted May 14, 2019 I think the best fall out from that episode is the idiocy some parents must feel for naming their daughter Daenerys or Dany or Khaleesi thinking they were giving such child the name of a strong noble caring feminist leader of people. But instead got a rage filled sociopathic mass murder bent on power and revenge. Read somewhere that since 2011 there are over 3600 kids given variations of those names. So stupid. 2

I just cant imagine a scenario where they all walked away after filming, like, oh yeah we nailed the landing. It was an unmitigated disaster. And I agree, all but like maybe Jamie, Cersie, Sansa and Tyrion pull any legitimate gigs after this show. So yes, they all come back. I think they’re like professional athletes and don’t really care about winning as much as fans do. I think they made their money, don’t really care about the end product and after the season is over just want to go home and play golf. 8-9 years living all over the globe for half a year doing this show might grind on you. It’s like the Walking Dead, after living 1/2 the year in hot steamy Georgia some of the main characters just say ‘enough’.
