rick34125
Peat would only be a consideration if the Jets were able to trade down.
BMAN 1
Trade Down only if Jets can land two 1st round picks. Grab Peat and the best available WR or OLB. RB in round 2. Peat Parker Eli Harold in round 2. Or, Peat Beasley WR in round 2.
Morrissey
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000488130/article/scout-slams-overrated-stanford-ot-andrus-peat With a couple of the top offensive linemen available in next week's NFL draft possibly ticketed for a switch from college tackle to pro guard, Stanford's Andrus Peat might be the first pure tackle prospect chosen in the first round. And at least one NFL scout doesn't understand why Peat's stock is so high. Among a collection of comments from NFL scouts gathered about Peat by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, one was anything but flattering. "I saw him get thrown around like a rag doll," the scout said. "I respect what people think about the guy, but every defensive player I saw against Stanford kicked the (expletive) out of the guy. If you're asking me who was the most overrated guy I saw, it was that guy." Another scout acknowledged Peat as the No. 1 player at his position, but still offered a strong a critique of him. "He's got damn good feet but ... the last bowl game against Maryland he looked like (expletive)," he said. "He's the No. 1 guy but he's never been pushed. He doesn't have any core strength. He doesn't take hard coaching."

Il Mostro
Possible that we trade Brick? For a tackling dummy and a bag of balls? Deal. One of the talking heads mentioned N.O. being hot to trot with one of the OLB prospects (forgot which) and maybe moving up to #6 in exchange for their two first round picks, #19 and #31 if memory serves me. Not enough IMO.

Pass Bowles is a Parcells disciple. I am sure that he would be whipped right into shape.
Joe Jets fan
IMHO they are not taking any OL at 6, just not the value there. I have said it before and I will say it again, six elite players in this draft, you take one of the six. This team needs elite talent.

Tony The Wiz
This was one player watching him at the combine just made me go another way. I had him in my first three Tackles but the combine he seemed out of breath a lot and not agile at all. He looks more like a guard now or center. I don't think he can even pull on an outside run. I rather draft Ereck Flowers.
