Roger Goodell says Deflategate report should be released 'soon'...***updated 5/6: REPORT RELEASED*** (starts page 8)

Recommended Posts

He's just trying to figure out the best way to ignore the Patriots' obvious cheating and look the other way for the benefit of his good buddy Kraft.

Letting the draft pass through. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out next weekend.

are you talking bout the deflate gate report or Goodell's dick in Kraft's mouth?

Gronk in the 2nd round was another great move by BB.

Like most GMs, Belichick's drafts have been a mixed bag.  Some outstanding picks through the years and plenty of busts too.  Just like everyone else.  I see the same in this year's draft for NE.  Brown was a great pick and a great value where NE got him.  But the 2d and 3d round picks were huge reaches, and projections for 5th/6th rounds.  The rest of the draft seems ok, but I haven't done any research on most of those players.

What's your assessment of the NE draft (your non-troll assessment, please)?

I pretty much agree with everything you said above.

Brown was a good pick and it filled a need.

Richards could have been had in the 4th, let alone the 2nd.

A reach on a safety in the second.  Sounds eerily familiar.  :)

I remember a 1st round NE reach for a safety....      How about that Tebucky Jones guy?   LOL

Did you guys know that Tebucky Jones' kid was eligible for this year's draft?

Tebucky Jones, Jr.,  WR, Fordham (Senior, 5'11", 196)

No one drafted him.  Let's see if he signs as an UDFA somewhere.

2 lbs of PSI is the equivalent of a feather.

But whatever floats your boat.

Tex remember only one ball was under 2 PSI under.  Several were only half a feather and the remaining were at 'tick' under so a quarter feather.

What a pathetic example of trolling.  Unless you're joking around.  What does weight have to do with this? The issue is air pressure, not weight.

Oh please let this ridiculous thing be over.  I have no doubt that the Pats have been using under inflated balls for a while now (Brady likes 'em that way, he said so himself and the Pats aberrant fumble rate is suspicious) and I have no doubt that there will be no punishment.  As long as the league now checks the balls in a consistent way for all games, the one good outcome of deflategate, this whole thing should go away.  The Pats will always find a good way to cheat.  I'm sure Belicheat has the next cheating mechanism already in place.  Time to move on to the next corruption.  Deflategate is stale.

Now lets see if Goodell has the balls to inflict an appropriate punishment.

Can summarize 243 pages in one sentence: "We're pretty sure you did something wrong, but we can't prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt"

and that, my friends, is the real "Patriot Way"!

About time this stupid witch hunt is over.

Hope you guys are not too disappointed in the outcome.

The report says the Pats more likely cheated than not.  Something we all knew anyway.  As long as Belicheat is there and has Kraft's blessing, he will continue to find new and more innovative ways to cheat.  It's the Patriot Way, of course.

pages 127 -129 show that Tom Brady outright lied to the investigators about his knowledge of deflated balls.

It's funny how ignorance wasn't a defense for Sean Payton a few years ago but is all of a sudden a valid defense for Belichick.

^this

Wells simply said he has no evidence to demonstrate that Belicheat was complicit.  It's up to Goodell to decide if Belicheat's so called "ignorance" is an adequate defense ort whether he gets punished anyway just like Sean Payton was.

Brady has to be looking at at least a 4-game suspension.  A six game suspension would keep him from playing the Jets. (not including bye week)

Yea, damning evidence consists of alot of "possibly, probably, maybe, and could be's".

Not one bit of concrete evidence whatsoever.

LOL.  You might want to put some clothes on before you parade around your nonsense while stark naked.

Pats are cheaters in every respect.

Brady is a lying scumbag.

* * * *

Have a nice day

This is not a homicide investigation you clueless homer. The amount of circumstantial evidence on Brady alone is ridiculous. You have to be one serious homer with his head buried in the sand not to see that.

Go easy on him. It's not easy for a man of his age to continue to spin as long as he has.  An now with this extensive report, which is tantamount to a guilty verdict against the Pats and Tom Brady, he has to take spinning to another level.  Hope he doesn't have a coronary.

Let's see how he does in the 10 games he's not suspended for in 2015 with properly inflated footballs.

Me thinks you may be in for a rude awakening.

Watch the fumble rate return to normalcy as well.

Patriots = most corrupt and amoral professional franchise of the last 100 years.  Quite a legacy you've got there Pats trolls.  Suck on it for a while.

Of course, because they have at least 5 or 6 other systematic means of cheating going on elsewhere in that organization.  The players change, the coaches change and the success continues... there's a reason that not one coach or player has left that organization and found anywhere close to the success they had when they were in that organization and that includes the head coach.

They are known proven cheaters and frauds.  No matter how many times people like you try to shout from the hilltops to convince people of your team's legitimacy, it will never matter.  That must tear you up inside.

to think...it all started with a snow plow clearing a path for their kicker.  Long before Belichick & Kraft.  Once a cheating franchise.... always a cheating franchise

Kraft's entire statement presented below with no comment.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft issued the following statement Wednesday regarding the Wells report:

“When I addressed the media at the Super Bowl on January 26 -- over 14 weeks ago -- I stated that I unconditionally believed that the New England Patriots had done nothing inappropriate in this process or in violation of the NFL rules and that I was disappointed in the way the league handled the initial investigation. That sentiment has not changed.

“I was convinced that Ted Wells’ investigation would find the same factual evidence supported by both scientific formula and independent research as we did and would ultimately exonerate the Patriots. Based on the explanations I have heard and the studies that have been done, I don’t know how the science of atmospheric conditions can be refuted or how conclusions to the contrary can be drawn without some definitive evidence.

“What is not highlighted in the text of the report is that three of the Colts’ four footballs measured by at least one official were under the required psi level. As far as we are aware, there is no comparable data available from any other game because, in the history of the NFL, psi levels of footballs have never been measured at halftime, in any climate. If they had been, based on what we now know, it is safe to assume that every cold-weather game was played with under-inflated footballs. As compelling a case as the Wells Report may try to make, I am going to rely on the factual evidence of numerous scientists and engineers rather than inferences from circumstantial evidence.

“Throughout the process of this nearly four-month investigation, we have cooperated and patiently awaited its outcome. To say we are disappointed in its findings, which do not include any incontrovertible or hard evidence of deliberate deflation of footballs at the AFC Championship Game, would be a gross understatement. In addition, given our level of cooperation throughout the process, I was offended by the comments made in the Wells Report in reference to not making an individual available for a follow-up interview. What the report fails to mention is that he had already been interviewed four times and we felt the fifth request for access was excessive for a part-time game day employee who has a full-time job with another employer.

“While I respect the independent process of the investigation, the time, effort and resources expended to reach this conclusion are incomprehensible to me. Knowing that there is no real recourse available, fighting the league and extending this debate would prove to be futile. We understand and greatly respect the responsibility of being one of 32 in this league and, on that basis, we will accept the findings of the report and take the appropriate actions based on those findings as well as any discipline levied by the league.”

translation:  Sh*t.  You got us.  We're guilty.  Please have mercy.

Wait, what's that story??

December 1982:  Pats sent the plow onto the field to clear the snow in the kicker's way near the end of a 0-0 tie game against the Dolphins.  Of course this is illegal now and probably was then too, but it set the standard for that corrupt franchise.

No amount of investigation changes the fact that in order to determine whether there's a competitive advantage from deflating the balls, you need to have a sample of games known to have been played with deflated balls to compare to games known not to have been played with deflated balls.

The abnormal fumble rate compared to the other 31 teams through many years of Tom Brady certainly suggests that this specific form of New England cheating has been going on for many years.

Ah, more speculation and innuendo based on no facts whatever.

Suggests = Possibly?

= likely. Civil court not criminal court. Preponderance of evidence needed not beyond a reasonable doubt, shadow of a doubt or clear and convincing. The abnormal fumble rate is additional circumstantial evidence that just adds to the obvious. Four fkin' tainted championships! What a disgrace the Kraft and his band of cheaters are to the integrity of all professional sports.

Nope, the report completely exonerated BB.

Sean Payton had no knowledge either. How'd that turn out for him?

The Patriots are so proud of their history of finding ways to gain unfair advantages and outright cheating, that they have the infamous snowplow hanging in "The Hall at Patriot Place", where Pats history is commemorated.  It all started with that.

img_0353.jpg

What other team would have the audacity to glorify a moment where they figured out a quick way to gain an unfair advantage over an opponent?  This proves (beyond the shadow of a doubt for you Pat trolls) that the NE Patriots philosophy (Patriot Way, if you will) is rooted in finding ways to gain unfair advantages and downright cheating.  They actually honor a moment in history where they conveniently found a way to gain an unfair advantage.  What more do we need than that to understand the philosophy of this morally corrupt franchise?

If Tom wasn't guilty, then he would have taken the easy opportunity to prove it. Tom's phone probably indicts people higher up in the organization as well... Like his sh*tbag coach.

This, on the other hand, is absurd. As much as you all would like to think Belichick is some sort of omniscient video-game crime lord, this is all on Brady. Unless you think there should be vicarious liability for all head coaches. That's fine, but that also means Rex should have been suspended for trip-gate, Pete Carroll for the many PED violations of his players, etc., etc.

You can exclude Rex from that list. The doofus didn't even know the offensive play book. I doubt he knows if his shoe laces are tied.

Kidding aside, Beliecheats is well known to be a micromanager to the nth degree. So it is not at all implausible that he was aware of the ball deflation that had been going on for years.

As much as I would prefer that this all be pinned on Belichick rather than Brady, it simply strains credulity to think that Belichick would dictate the details of the ball used by his franchise QB on game days.

He might not have "dictated" the specifics on ball tampering. But I'd be willing to bet he was well aware of it. He probably won't get suspended because he didn't overtly impede the investigation as did Brady, but he sure as sh*t deserves to be suspended along with him.

They did not cheat to wint he last one unless Beli gave pete a quick HJ to deflate his balls.

They cheated to get to the Superbowl. The whole frigging season is tainted. And of course, you know that already.

In 1982, there were no rules against using a snowplow to clear the playing field.

Just like there were no rules saying the home team must cover the field with a tarp.

Two perfect examples of teams gaining a competitive advantage by not breaking any rules.

They were not illegal so the teams got the opportunity to gain an unfair advantage. And you think that's good? Both were despicable. And both generated new rules forbidding such unethical tactics. Yet the Pats are proud of their little unethical snow plow tactic. They actually glorify it in their "Patriots Hall" where the snow plow hangs on display as if it's something to be proud of. That, my troll, says all you need to know about the culture of the Patriots. Your f-ked up team actually thinks it's cool to glorify and celebrate an unsportsmanlike action that was morally corrupt, by enshrining the device used. What's next? Enshrining the deflate syringes in a trophy case in the Hall? The Patriot Way indeed.

Again the Pats showing how classy they are by threatening folks who dare to TELL THE TRUTH!!!!

It is sickening!!

It's like Elisabeth Kubler-Ross' 5 stages of grief:

Denial: We've seen plenty of that since January

Anger: Oh the rage expressed by Pats fans and wrath toward Ted Wells. They are foaming at the mouth that the truth has been revealed. The explicit and veiled threats against the media are a component of this stage.

Bargaining: We'll be seeing that soon enough in the appeal process that will begin as soon as the suspension and lost draft pick are announced.

Depression

Acceptance.
