AFJF
In things like these you never know when the other shoe drops. But when the integrity of the game is in question it could be at any point of time and it could be very fatal. There has not been a single regular season game since DeflateGate. We will see what happens. They were caught cheating before and he burned the tapes...there will never be a more obvious example of blatant cheating. Yet...the sport just keeps growing and growing. Jet Fan RI
The original leak, Kravitz, was 11 of 12 were 2lbs under. Then Florio (I believe) said only one was 2 under, several were about a pound and the remaining were a tick or not under. The lie is that the Patriots gauged them and then the refs gauged them. SWAG here, but I am guessing there was nothing more than a grip test. Tom probably did not liike the 1-2 lbs under and they let air out. The refs grabbed and thought they are good. Who is this "they" you say it is who let air out for Brady? Is this supposed to be sarcasm? And you really think the refs would not do the job right when they know the balls will be tested again at the half?

But after all the scandals i do not think people will give the commish any benefit of doubt. He has used all his chips. Just assuming that the sport will keep on growing and growing no matter what is biggest misstep any sport can make.

Do you really think Tom puts a gauge in every ball? Lets air out. Really? And why is it so hard to comprehend that maybe just maybe the refs do a half assed job of checking the balls? Oh, I know they are doctors and lawyers and other professionsals, of course they would do the most monotnous thing in their lives. I am sure they followed the correct procedure at half. That is not when we are talking about. It is their check two hours before that is in question. Of course they record everything....oh yeah...we have to take their word for it. If people are more concerned with the "integrity of the game" they need to go out support their local Pop Warner leagues. The only thing that matters in the NFL is winning. drdetroit
2 lbs of PSI is the equivalent of a feather. But whatever floats your boat. Avg PSI is 12.5 lbs 2 lbs is roughly 16% - a non-retarded person would say that's significant. Oh and since when did a feather weigh 2lbs?!? Probably not enough to get caught but it would be silly to think they didn't cheat this time. Nor should they, but that does not mean they are also automatically guilty. 99% of this is that it is the Patriots. If it were any other team, fans and the league would not have their panties in a bunch as much as they do because it is the Patriots. Because they knew something was up since the balls were being retested at the half. Do we know that for sure? Baldino said there was no sting. And I might be wrong with the timeline, but it was the Colts ball boy that thought it was under and he brought it to the attention of the Colts FO who informed the NFL who tested the balls at halftime. Otherwise no retest. Seriously, think it out. If all of a sudden the NFL appeared in the refs room to ensure they measured all the balls properly and that the balls were at the very least minimum psi and they escorted the balls to the field and did not let the old guy take a piss then you have a point. And at the very least, the refs would have recorded the pressure ball 1 =x, ball 2 = y......... What we know is the refs said they were good, but they have no definitive proof they were good other than their word. FidelioJet
I think most Jets fans know Pats are going to get off scot free I think the only hope of a legitimate penalty is the other 31 owners. Yes, it will harm PR of the league but is there a point where they say - F-that, we've had enough of this S-bag cheating! If Goodell truly felt there would be enough owners to get him fired - the decision might be legitimate. Ultimately I think the owners will give-in but that's the only hope I have. Just the way it goes...if the Jets won SB's by cheating and were later caught cheating again, you'd like something to be done about it. The fact that they're pretending it takes six months to answer the question makes it look that much worse. There is no way it doesn't look like a cover-up even if there isn't one. The league has decided to stall and stall and stall and stall and stall..so when they finally come out and offer Kraft his apology it's gonna' look bad...but the league will be just fine.
