7th rounder for Stacy? I'll take that trade.

He may not do anything but his chances of being a contributor are better than whoever we were going to pick.

Funny though, he is more buried with us than he would have been in St Louis.

I missed todays draft.  Does anyone have a quick summary recap of our moves?  I see we got Petty and traded with Rams for Stacey?

4th: Petty

5th: Jarvis Harrison = lazy but very talented G

7th: traded pick for Stacy

7th: Deon Simon NT

Wasn't Darryl Richardson also a Rams castoff?

Maybe you got better intel. I think he will be solid contributor but not the beast you hope we get in Top 3 rounds.  Meanwhile we have bigger needs that still need to be filled at RB.

I thought RB was a need, but not nearly as big a need as OLB. Like, not even in the same stratosphere. But now that they've traded their last pick for Zac Stacy, do you feel any better?

Awesome.  Looks like we touched on everything.  G position is absolutely stacked for competition this year.  We'll see how it plays out.

Haul complete.

Leonard Williams, DE

Devin Smith, WR

Lorenzo Mauldin, OLB

Bryce Petty, QB

DeVier Posey, WR

Jarvis Henderson, G

Zac Stacy, RB

Deon Simon, DT

You could also add Marshall and Fitz to that list.

Pretty good haul.

So the final draft layout looks like this

1. Leonard Williams DL

2. Devin Smith WR

3. Lorenzo Mauldin OLB

4. Bryce Petty QB

5. Jarvis Harrison OG

7. Deion Simon DT

Also acquired Devier Posey WR, and Zac Stacy RB in trades

I think thats a solid draft if not a great draft. Leonard Williams is really a great catch for the jets

Defense got better. Offense got better. QB of the future??

Way to go Mac! Way to start off your rookie year.

He has got a 3.9 ypc average. Had a great rookie season in cumulative numbers but disappeared in his 2nd season. Not a bad for a 7th round pick. JETS have good quantity at that position BUT not enough quality.

Last draft was deep at WR and we walked away with no legit WR options.

The pick the Jets traded for Stacy was acquired in the Brandon Marshall trade. So they turned a 5th-round pick into Marshall and Stacy. #nyj

And they eventually got a 5th back anyway. Amazing

Mcags is sooooooo much better at this GMing thing than Idzik was. At least that's what it seems so far.

Yeah I think so. It's a good deal with now loss if he doesn't pan out. I think we drafted very well and traded very well.

Absolutely.  I can't really hate on this offseason and draft.  Stacey is actually a better Rams castoff then Richardson imo.  I don't know what the story was last year and why he ended up in the doghouse but he had a great 2013 so I'm rooting he returns to form.

And we have UDFA's to go as well.

Looks like Maccagnan stayed tight to his board, which I like. Got a lot of value with low round pick trades; Fitzpatrick, Marshall, and Stacy.

Would I've liked a RB somewhere along the line? Hell, I was prepared for Gurley at #6! But I'm not upset with what he's done here. Came into the draft with six picks, left with eight players, and touched on virtually every need. Not to mention walking away with the player generally considered to be the best prospect in the entire class.

Not sure what the Irony is. Mac got a near-1000 yard NFL rusher for a seventh round pick. Idzik drafted three WRs -two with fourth rounders, and one in the sixth- that did absolutely nothing as rookies.
