I agree.  The only up side to smith getting hurt is that Owusu , who I like is going to get a  Lot more reps to show if can consistently do it.

Great job as always KRL

+1

With Colon back out there at RG rotating in with Winters & Qvale did you have a chance to notice anything standing out (either good or bad) for any of them?

Great stuff as always!

Interesting to hear Revis busting it up in run game/blocking drills ... He's soo good in coverage & tackling I guess I never even think about him up in run support, lol

Krl, great write up.

I bang the drum harder then anyone against Geno but I will say it sounds like he really put in work this offseason. Now, I want to see how he plays after getting hit but sounds like he is working hard not to suck.

I would be excited about your Geno Smith perspective except I remember you saying the same things about him last year at this time.

Thanks KRL. Good to read that Jeff Cumberland is still a Jets TE. Taiwan Jones is a real find by the Jets. I like IKE.

I write what I see.  If a player does well in camp/pre-season (like Smith did last year) and then stinks in the regular

season, I don't control that

At this point it's a three way battle at RG between Qvale, Winters & Colon.  I haven't seen

any protection breakdowns up the middle yet

KRL is reporting what he sees. It's not perspective, or an agenda, it's reporting by a fan. Perhaps GFY

I would also like to hear the obvious negatives. It can't all be rosy. Tell us who is supposed to contribute but downright sucks. Calvin Pryor perhaps?

Excited about Saxton, Tawain Jones news, two sleepers I loved when signed.

KRL, is Jones the #3 MLB at this point who do you sense rolls up behind Harris and Davis?  I think the LB position doesn't get talked about enough, a lot of transition in camp this year, both youth and vet players like Erin Henderson.  The Howsware update was interesting.

Love the IK news as well, I think Pace and Babin are redundant, 1 of the 2 make the team, any additional feedback on the position?

Love the Owusu news, TJ Graham could be a surprise player for us this year.  Seems Evans, Owusu and maybe Graham are the next 3 WR's after Marshall and Decker.  I think Owusu could be an emerging player.

How about NT?  Who is playing behind Harrison?  Is it TJ Barnes?   What about the kid Deon Simon, and the big kid Walls?

KRL, great as always. How would describe the offense you are seeing in terms of philosophy and scheme?

Thank you KRL.

Geno always seems to look good in August. Let's hope he can carry it over to the regular season this year.

Did Geno's release or footwork seem any different to you? He really needs to drop back quicker and get it out sooner

Where's Oday

I read a tweet from one of the beat reporters that Oday got mauled a bit by Richardson playing with the seconds today...

The biggest offensive change I've seen so far is how Gailey deploys our "big WR's" (Decker

and Marshall) into slot WR positions.  Usually you expect to see small shifty players inside

(Welker, Edelman) but Gailey likes to "flip the script"

What were you watching here? I was there and most of the pressures and every would be sacks except two (Coples and Skrine) came from up the middle. How do you explain Mac reaching out to Mathis after practice today?

You know it's camp time when KRL delivers one of his stellar reports. Thanks.

Are the pace and organization of practice noticeably different from Rex's camp? Is Bowles more noticeable at camp compared to what we hear? Seems like he is but...

Mac didnt reach out to Mathis after practice, he was asked during his press conference before practice if he had contacted him in anyway and Mac acknowledge that the team did talk to him, but nothing was imminent, it is not a priority for the team right now.

I didn't see it was after since I was at practice, but that doesn't change the fact that our inside protection besides Mangold is sh*t. There was still a lot of pressure up the middle.

And the first pads training camp practice shouldn't make us think that the team needs to go out and signed somebody

When it's as bad as they were it's probably necessary. It was honestly terrible up the middle. I saw multiple would be sacks/baddddd holding calls against our interior lineman.
