jgb
Going to simplify it as team record, yes i know that not a perfect measure of QB performance but oh well. Also assuming Geno unavailable until after bye.

Warfish
3-1, with 2 TD's thrown for every turnover he causes, minimum. Honestly, I think Geno will get the job back when he's healthy because :reasons:, not because of Fitz's overall quality of play. 1

I dont see 3-1 for FITZ.
New York Mick
Not stick his finger in Jason Babin's face? Lmao. That's a good start. He'll be fine as long as he doesn't completely suck and look lost like Geno.
nyjunc
at least 3-1 and putting up 20+ pts every week as an offense.

DoubleDown
I think 2-2 with more TD's than turnovers will be enough to keep the job. That's the "minimum."

flgreen
Don't see the Jets' record being any worst then if Smith was QB. Unless Fitz gets hurt of course
TuscanyTile2
As long as Fitz can still fog a mirror, the job is his.
BigRy56
Throw it to his own team and manage the football effectively. Doing that will lead the Jets to 2-2 and will keep him as the starter for the rest of the season.
BigRy56
I know it's a big shock and some were thinking he can become something with Marshall and Co. at wide out.. but lets all remember it can't get any worse than Geno

Integrity28
Ryan Fitzpatrick was statistically one of the better QBs in football last year with a lesser supporting cast in Houston.
JetsFanatic
If Fitzpatrick plays well and the team is responding to him, it may his job all season. Don't know what the record has to be, I think it's going to be more of a "feel."
Ohio State NY Jets fan
Other - he needs to be a great mentor to Petty - that gives him the starting job for 4-6 games and the young texan takes us to SB50 or gives us Conner Cook

jeaniec
Geno might be back before 6 weeks too. The jaw heals pretty quickly. Also, it's a good sign that emergency surgery is not necessary. A jaw break can cause all kinds of complications to include difficulty with breathing. He will probably have his mouth wired so he will have to be on liquid diet that means he will lose weight. He has a rocky road ahead.

Integrity28
3-1 with a 2-1 TD-INT rate and 62% completion percentage. I don't think it'll be purely a numbers thing. I also believe that if the team chemistry crystalizes around Fitz, then it exposes the other side of Geno's suck.
JETSfaninNE
Geno has lost the team and has displayed a total lack of leadership skills. He doesn't get his job back no matter what should have been an option.
Spoot-Face
I don't think it'll be purely a numbers thing. I also believe that if the team chemistry crystalizes around Fitz, then it exposes the other side of Geno's suck. I don't think it'll be purely numbers, either. But, I do think it'll be based on whether they win because of Fitz, or in spite of him. If they're winning low-scoring games on the back of the defense, I don't think Fitz keeps the job. He has to look not only competent, but like he'll continue to do so. You already said the perfect word: "chemistry". Those are the mininum numbers I expect out of a competent Fitz who is gelling with the O.
GenoandtheJets
Fitzy just needs to win, not turn the ball over, make the smart throws to the receivers. I believe he will do well just because he has the wide outs that can certainly catch the ball. I say either 2-2 or 3-1 are the exact records for him to keep the Job because that would mean the Jets would be in contention which they should be. jetscrazey
Fitz needs to go 3-1, and with this defense if he avoids turnovers he just might do it.
