UnitedWhofans
What a disgrace by Roger Goodell and his friends. And what a waste of time. Now his reputation and the NFL's is in ruins. I don't even care if Brady cheated or not. It didn't help them win the game. Maxman
Tom Brady wins Deflategate appeal against NFL, judge rules 2m - NFL TOM BRADY +1 more ESPN.com news services 0Shares Email Print Comment Tom Brady has beaten the NFL in the "Deflategate" court case, with U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman nullifying the league's four-game suspension Thursday. Berman announced his decision after the sides failed to reach a settlement after several weeks of talks. Brady's suspension originally was upheld by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in July after an appeal. Brady, meanwhile, repeatedly had disputed the league's ruling that he and Patriots equipment staff colluded to deflate footballs before New England's 45-7 victory over Indianapolis in last season's AFC Championship Game. Beerfish
I will look forward to hearing the ruling of this door knob judge on this one. If the NFL had any balls at all they would appeal immediately. But being a league that just wants thins to go away Goodell has his best result possible. He can say he did his best with the punishment and it was not his fault it got over turned. Looks every bit like the old 'punishment' ruling by a judge that has no concept of anything other than come to a settlement.
stoicsentry
What the &&&&? So now the collective bargaining agreement doesn't mean anything at all? You can just get your suspension thrown out just like that? Hey Sheldon, hope you're taking notes. This is absolutely ridiculous after the way he has maligned the league. If not, the judge would have been able to force a settlement down their throat with the threat of this decision hanging over their head. I had thought the hold up was that Brady wouldn't accept any suspension, but it appears it was the league holding out for at least 1 game. Popular Post JiF
I honestly dont even know why I watch the NFL. It's become the biggest joke in all of sports. Maxman
Patriots will still be docked their draft picks though. Bob Kraft has to feel dumb about that That is the interesting part. Even if the NFL doesn't appeal....the Pats admitted guilt and will lose the picks. Then Brady got the good news lol.

The issue was admitting guilt. He didn't want to do that
UnitedWhofans
And it doesn't directly affect the Jets because even with the suspension, we would have played Brady anyway
FidelioJet
I think that does it for me and the NFL....The league has become a joke. I wish the Jets and it's fans a lot of luck, I'll always be a Jet fan but simply can't be an NFL fan anymore...I'm out, at least until Goodell is gone.

Now every player who gets suspended has a potential way out. NFL needs to fight this or else the CBA holds little value when it comes to player discipline.

UnitedWhofans
Key Points: The court found that Brady had no notice that he could receive a four-game suspension for general awareness of ball deflation by others Brady also had no notice that his discipline would be the equivalent of the discipline imposed upon a player who used PEDs What this tells me is that if they had given him a lesser punishment, we wouldn't be here Edited September 3, 2015 by UnitedWhofans
BP
Disappointing but not surprising. I would want the Jets to beat them at full strength anyways. Always look at the positives. Now lets see how the Richardson thing plays out
Larz
this is no way says the cheating didn't happen this just throws the equipment guys under the bus the judge said there was not enough proof "any player" was aware of the scheme he didn't say there wasn't a scheme

Bugg
Preface this by saying if Brady cooperated and showed some contrition for "making a mistake" from the beginning, this would have been a fine and 1 day story. SImply wonder how Jim Irsay, or Sean Payton or Jon Vilma feel today. Suspect you have at least 2 and probably 31 other NFL franchises that are not very happy right now that one franchise can do whatever it wants. Sounds like he determined there wasn't enough proof of Brady's involvement. Essentially making the CBA null and void.

Popular Post jgb
Shocker. Every suspended player should sue everytime. Le'Veon Bell and Martavius Bryant should immediately file for injunctions to play week 1.
