Two notable events from this game: Namath separated his shoulder and was knocked out of the game; The Jets intercepted the Colts 8 times in this game. playtowinthegame
Watching some of these clips truly makes you understand how far the Jets have fallen into a franchise dark age. Back-to-back 5-11 seasons followed up with 3-13 and a cloud of dust. This is rock bottom. Meanwhile we have to endure this ridiculous talk in the media of "indications" Mac's job is safe. "Indications" without a name on it just sets up plausible deniability down the road. Christopher and Woody Johnson not wanting to attach their name to it allows them to FIRE these clowns and deny they ever said Mac was safe. That's my hope. 1

This is a modern day version of the 1990s Jets, we have a modern day Kotite. If we get a competent coach we'll start winning again soon. Despite all the gloom and doom we have some young talent, tons of cap room and high picks. This will be a quick fix for the next HC if we get the right one

So basically all else being equal(and admittedly it is not!) there's a 25% chance to win your division (1 of 4 teams) that any team in each conference could host a playoff game. In the 16 seasons since, by the law of averages the Jets should have by dint of sheer luck hosted 4 playoff games. But you know the math here, and the number is zero. Hard to bash the Jets for this when they play in the same division as Brady. In almost any other division they would have hosted a bunch of home playoff games in the past 17 years. TuscanyTile2
Check out the Jets "brain trust" at 4:31. Joe Walton (HC) and Rich Kotite (OC). Walt Michaels was under fire coming off a 4-12 season in 1980 then starting 0-3 in 1981. Of course the difference was he totally rebuilt with young players at all positions and starting with this game it all came together!
