Watching some of these clips truly makes you understand how far the Jets have fallen into a franchise dark age. Back-to-back 5-11 seasons followed up with 3-13 and a cloud of dust. This is rock bottom. Meanwhile we have to endure this ridiculous talk in the media of "indications" Mac's job is safe. "Indications" without a name on it just sets up plausible deniability down the road. Christopher and Woody Johnson not wanting to attach their name to it allows them to FIRE these clowns and deny they ever said Mac was safe. That's my hope.

This is a modern day version of the 1990s Jets, we have a modern day Kotite.  If we get a competent coach we'll start winning again soon. Despite all the gloom and doom we have some young talent, tons of cap room and high picks.  This will be a quick fix for the next HC if we get the right one

2002 wild card game vs colts

Last Jets home playoff game.

4 of 16 in the AFC teams get to host a playoff game (spare the title game) each season. So basically all else being equal(and admittedly it is not!) there's a 25% chance to win your division (1 of 4 teams) that any team in each conference could host a playoff game. In the 16 seasons since, by the law of averages the Jets should have by dint of sheer luck hosted 4 playoff games. But you know the math here, and the number is zero.

Hard to bash the Jets for this when they play in the same division as Brady. In almost any other division they would have hosted a bunch of home playoff games in the past 17 years.

1982 Playoffs The NFL Today pregame show before Cowboys-Packers.  this was the last semifinal game of the weekend and they talk about the Jets beating the Raiders the day before and the upcoming matchup w/ Miami in the AFC Championship Game along w/ a report on Walt Michaels and Al davis.

1981 Oilers at Jets

This was the game that got the Jets going, they were 0-3 going into this game.  They would go 10-2-1 the last 13 weeks(w/ both losses coming at the hands of Seattle who the Jets couldn't beat in those days)

I remember this well. Walt Michaels was under fire coming off a 4-12 season in 1980 then starting 0-3 in 1981.  Of course the difference was he totally rebuilt with young players at all positions and starting with this game it all came together!

I'll have to check this game out.  This is way old school.
