Let's see what he had to say in yesterday's Post...just out of curiosity. http://nypost.com/2015/10/05/jets-rewind-the-wild-ryan-fitzpatrick-ride-still-better-than-geno/ "...Fitzpatrick has two things Smith did not. Fitzpatrick can read defenses. His interceptions mostly come from poor throws. Smith rarely seemed to know what he was looking at with defenses and threw a lot of terrible interceptions right to a defender. Fitzpatrick also has a calming presence for the entire team. The Jets believe in Fitzpatrick. They never believed in Smith. Fitzpatrick is a veteran who has seen it all. That is a reassuring thing for his teammates. He also has a steady demeanor. He always seems to be in a good mood. The man has five kids. Football is the easy part of his day. Smith is moody and unpredictable. He also has a cockiness about him without the resume to back it up. That rubs teammates the wrong way."

Ex-Rex
I just cant understand how anybody can look at Fitz and think he is anything more than I a jag-I told you before the season he was awful and has no arm- I was at the game today like almost every game the past 35 years and he proved without a doubt he is not a NFL starter if you want to go anywhere-make no mistake Gailey knew this and knows him best that is why Geno was given the job early in camp. All of his previous teams that cut him knew this and now he is just older. Those dink and dunks for no yards were terrible. The missing of an open wr for a sure td that would have won the game(punted instead run back for a td) The turnovers terrible. Bmarsh loves geno and will bring the best out of Geno-when the jets got harvin last year and decker was healthy Geno looked decent which is way way better than fitz-I would rather go down fighting and trying to use our weapons then playing ultra conservative with a guy that cant throw a ball over 25 yards The "fitz guys" also loved our last gm and were glad to see revis and cro leave.... We will not see the playoffs with Fitz-go to Geno-if he fails start the Petty era go from there Uh, the Jets are 3-1 and Fitz has thrown just 2 ints this season. Geno Smith can't take a dump without throwing at least one. I guess there is a dark cloud in every silver lining.

How many times last season did we see wr's more than 10 yards downfield. In many situations he only had 1 or 2 reads. Guys openly complained about not being able to improvise in Rex's/MM's offense. I get it you don't like Geno , make the argument he made bad throws or panicked under pressure instead of using the cop out that Geno is dumb and can't read a defense . And Costelllo really , he probably couldn't even read the putrid rag he writes for and he's telling us Geno can't read defenses. When it comes from a football player it might carry some credibility from a scribe its lazy and drama stirring journalism at its worst.

Jet Nut
I think you need to work on things for a while. The original surprise is not whether or not Todd Bowles said what he said about who would start but.... wait for it... looking a little deeper... thinking just a little harder.... WHY Bowles would say that? Certainly he would not say that if it were Aaron Rogers or any other established starter for that matter. Does Smashmouth need to use words with fewer syllables? In any event, perhaps Bowles has acted the way that he has because Geno did not have much of a grip on the starter's job in the first place. That would be consistent with what we have seen on this matter. I know that conflicts with your all-Geno-all-the-time world view but it is what it is. Theres about 5 of you on this board who just cant seem to get it through your heads that Geno was the starting QB for this team at the time he was punched out. Pages and pages of absolute idiocy trying to come up with countless reasons why he wasnt when he was. Why Bowles might have told us he was. Or duh, maybe he actually meant what he said, why should anyone believe that? You can argue, you can call me names you can repeat it over and over again and at the end of the day youre wrong. Doesnt make me a Geno fan, a Fitz fan whatever. It makes me someone who can read.

EM31
That is passer rating. His QBR is only 64.5 That's right. 11th out of 32. Top third. It certainly beats 38th out of 32 teams as Geno Smith was (some teams had two starters with enough games to qualify). Fair to middling QB play. That is what we thought we would be getting and it looks like that is what we have received. About three or four orders of magnitude better than Geno Smith. 1 Ben Roethlisberger, PIT 20.9 0.0 -1.7 2.1 21.4 111 28.1 19.1 91.3 2 Andy Dalton, CIN 28.5 2.0 -2.2 0.2 28.5 156 35.1 22.5 87.7 3 Aaron Rodgers, GB 27.7 5.1 -2.6 1.6 31.9 173 38.4 24.4 87.3 4 Tom Brady, NE 21.2 -0.3 -2.4 2.0 20.5 161 31.8 18.8 83.1 5 Matt Ryan, ATL 26.6 2.1 -2.3 0.3 26.7 174 32.9 18.8 81.4 6 Carson Palmer, ARI 21.6 -1.5 -3.5 6.4 23.0 160 29.4 16.5 80.3 7 Josh McCown, CLE 17.0 1.1 -4.5 1.2 14.8 126 18.0 7.8 70.0 8 Tony Romo, DAL 11.6 0.5 -1.9 1.8 12.0 91 13.0 5.6 69.9 9 Derek Carr, OAK 18.9 0.4 -1.2 0.8 18.9 149 20.7 8.7 68.9 10 Teddy Bridgewater, MIN 14.8 5.2 -7.4 2.2 14.8 151 19.1 6.9 65.1 RK PLAYER PASS EPA RUN EPA SACK EPA PEN EPA TOTAL EPA ACT PLAYS QB PAR QB PAA TOTAL QBR 11 Ryan Fitzpatrick, NYJ 13.4 2.4 -0.5 1.1 16.4 179 22.3 7.8 64.5 12 Russell Wilson, SEA 20.0 4.7 -8.3 0.4 16.8 186 21.2 6.2 61.1 13 Kirk Cousins, WSH 18.2 -2.1 -2.0 1.2 15.2 189 20.2 5.0 58.8 14 Philip Rivers, SD 21.8 -0.0 -7.9 1.3 15.2 174 18.3 4.3 58.4 15 Jay Cutler, CHI 8.9 2.7 -2.4 1.6 10.8 113 11.8 2.7 58.2 16 Blake Bortles, JAX 15.6 3.8 -4.1 1.2 16.6 191 19.6 4.2 57.5 17 Drew Brees, NO 18.1 -0.1 -5.9 0.8 13.0 154 15.3 2.9 56.3 18 Eli Manning, NYG 14.8 1.4 -3.0 0.3 13.6 171 16.6 2.8 55.6 19 Peyton Manning, DEN 20.1 0.0 -4.8 0.7 16.0 187 18.1 3.0 55.4 20 Nick Foles, STL 14.7 -0.4 -4.0 0.8 11.2 141 13.3 1.9 54.7 RK PLAYER PASS EPA RUN EPA SACK EPA PEN EPA TOTAL EPA ACT PLAYS QB PAR QB PAA TOTAL QBR 21 Tyrod Taylor, BUF 11.6 0.8 -3.7 1.0 9.7 170 15.9 2.2 54.4 22 Cam Newton, CAR 11.6 5.0 -3.2 0.7 14.1 178 16.2 1.9 53.5 23 Ryan Mallett, HOU 6.3 2.5 -0.9 2.3 10.2 159 13.7 0.8 51.8 24 Marcus Mariota, TEN 10.4 0.9 -4.9 0.5 7.0 131 10.8 0.2 50.6 25 Matthew Stafford, DET 11.5 0.1 -4.3 4.1 11.4 193 15.7 0.2 50.3 26 Colin Kaepernick, SF 5.3 4.6 -4.7 -0.4 4.7 178 8.3 -6.1 38.6 27 Jameis Winston, TB 4.3 1.9 -3.8 1.9 4.2 184 6.8 -8.0 35.6 28 Joe Flacco, BAL 11.5 -3.1 -5.1 2.4 5.6 191 6.9 -8.5 35.3 29 Sam Bradford, PHI 3.3 1.1 -2.1 0.8 3.1 178 4.7 -9.6 32.3 30 Ryan Tannehill, MIA 10.3 0.4 -9.1 1.7 3.3 209 5.4 -11.5 32.1 RK PLAYER PASS EPA RUN EPA SACK EPA PEN EPA TOTAL EPA ACT PLAYS QB PAR QB PAA TOTAL QBR 31 Andrew Luck, IND 3.2 1.8 -1.9 -1.2 1.8 148 3.2 -8.7 30.9 32 Alex Smith, KC 9.7 -0.8 -6.9 -0.1 1.9 199 3.7 -12.3 30.
