nyjunc
Monmouth has now beaten UCLA and Notre dame- best BB school in New Jersey They have been really good and are led by a former Heel in King Rice. It's taken him a few years to get it going but winning at Pauley(even though UCLA is down) and beating ND is huge for that program.

Even though all those guys are long gone, glad you guys knocked them off anyways.

I miss them being in the ACC. Very strange seeing them in the Big 10. It also can't be easy for them to have to stretch their recruiting efforts into the midwest, but it seems to be working so far. They have a freshman center from Wisconsin (Diamond Stone) in their starting lineup averaging 9.0 ppg and 3.7 rpg with 7 blocks.

afosomf
carolina is very good this yr, should make it to at least elite 8. 1 yr window though. Next yr back to normal average self. Duke is just a top 20 team this yr, sweet 16 is best they will do, lost too much ....plumlee replacing Okafor is all you need to know
nyjunc
Carolina is back to normal now after some tough years due to ridiculous allegations that have not been proven. soon the NCAA mess will be over and it will be like 2005-2009 again
nyjunc
I assume UK drops to #9 this week after getting whipped by a bad UCLA team? they dropped Carolina to 9 after a close loss against a tough mid major on the road w/o their best player. nyjunc
The loss for the Heels on Saturday, there's just something about Texas. they have the heels #, the ending was controversial, it appeared the GW shot came after the buzzer(and definitely after a shove to Marcus Paige to get the open shot) but Carolina had a million chances and when you let inferior teams hang around this can happen. Roy's teams always lose games in Nov/Dec they shouldn't and they always get better later in seasons.

nyjunc
what a great day Saturday was. a big Jet win, Carolina crushes UCLA and duke loses to an unranked team despite all their flopping drawing fouls late in the game to give them a chance. nyjunc
big game Saturday for the Heels as they travel to Syracuse. Carolina is head and shoulders better but the emotion in that building w/ the cheater returning from his suspension will be in incredible. If the heels can find a way to pull this off it will be a great sign.
nyjunc
Great win for the Heels, as expected SU got a huge jolt of emotion w/ Boeheim coming back, almost 27,000 people rocking the Carrier dome and the heels played tough to win going away in the final few minutes. nyjunc
a great week in CBB, duke loses twice, KU lost, UK lost twice, MSU lost twice(though I like Izzo and MSU, I respect them), the Heels beat State as usual. Fun week. watching duke lose again on Saturday, it's so frustrating watching them play. coach K has really ruined basketball w/ all the flopping. the recent trend for duke players is the headsnap to "sell the foul". it's just awful to watch. 2 examples, one of the traditional duke flop and the 2nd was a player fouling another player and trying so hard to act that he held his face pretending he got hit. The worst part is the officials fall for this more often than not. http://thebiglead.com/2016/01/16/dukes-marshall-plumlee-flopped-no-one-bought-it/

Jetsfan80
Monmouth continues will best ever season in CBB they look like fav to win their conference over Iona It's especially great because of how pissed off opponents are getting over their celebratory nature. The Iona coach said "I've never seen them on the court doing anything, so to me, they're not basketball players." In response, the Monmouth bench busted out some new celebrations in a 110-102 win over Iona: http://www.nj.com/rutgersbasketball/index.ssf/2016/01/monmouth_bench_breaks_out_new_celebrations_after_i.htm So great. Monmouth and Iona played an entertaining game Friday which featured a little postgame violence. should be a fun rematch in West Long Branch next month. duke list their 3rd straight and as coach K displays his usual sportsmanship at the end. The recruiting team totally did not evaluate him correctly. there goes the season, w/o Amile the great they have no chance. w/ him they would never lose a game(except for getting dismantled by an average Kentucky team) I am enjoying this season, I would never count them out but I am enjoying it and the sched only gets harder from here.
