OAK Observations

KRL

Recommended Posts

- They stunk in every phase particularly defensively and deserved the
butt kicking they got.  OAK was the far superior team

- With the Fitzpatrick injury we've reached a turning point in the
season.  Can he play or do we have to go to Smith?

- If Smith has to play, can Bowles/Gailey craft the offense to diminish
his bad decision making that we still saw today?  Don't think it was a
coincidence that you saw pre-snap penalties, pre-determined throws and
shaky OLine play with Smith behind center.  Fitzpatrick provided "unsexy"
stability to the QB position, can Smith?

- Big test for the coaching staff, the schedule still has winnable games
coming up (JAC, BUF & HOU).  Can they clean up the errors and get us to
7-3???

KRL, just having Geno back there is too scary. His decision making on very simple plays is extremely perplexing. With the rules as they are for QB's today, this guy plays like he is just not smart. How can he take sacks like he did at those critical times?

The Jets scare me with this guy behind the Center.

We really missed Pryor today. I stated before he was having a Pro Bowl season. Cro looks done right now. He is severely hurting this defense. He still may be a better choice than Delicate Dee though. Just a nightmare game all around. Good to be home for a few games now.

Shaky oline was minus Mangold who calls protections. That is a pretty big deal.

Geno struggled with throwing the ball away but showed some skill. A week of first team snaps and some adjustments to the game plan should help him.

Would seem herculean for Fitz to play again with his injury.

Seems like their is a "book" on how to beat our defense. Let's see if Bowles can adjust,

Very concerned with Bowles as head coach.

Nice post...

But the real key is if Fitz and Geno are down for an extended period of time, then what?

Since we have threads on the Jets acquiring another QB it maybe that the coaching staff will have to trade for a journey man QB to "hold the fort" until Fitz gets back and that is just so unpredictable.

Interesting season so far...

I've banged the drum for Geno to get another opportunity, but clearly I was wrong. Those stupid mistakes at the end of the game showed me that this kid just does not get it. You can't be a third year QB in the NFL and make those kids of mistakes.

Those dumb sacks at the end of the game showed me that whatever improvements Geno may have made elsewhere, he still has brainfarts around the most simple concepts.

Throw the ball away = stop the clock, lose no yards. Smart football.

Take the sack = keep running out the clock AND lose yards. Dumb football.

How can it be any more simple???
