JohnnyLV
***Taking QB out of the equation, because then this will just devolve into "Geno sucks" like every other thread*** So outside of QB, who are the core players we build around for the next 3-5 years? It has been occurring to me lately, that we are really in quite a bad spot in terms of developing long term success. Over the next couple years, the turnover will be huge and I see few players on our roster that we can actually build around. OL - Mangold and Brick really getting long in the tooth. Can they play 3 more years? Can we afford them? Carpenter seems solid. Resign Giacomini -maybe? No real foundational type backup players. We are really hurting at OL for the next 3-5 years. WR - Devin Smith (maybe, has not impressed really so far, but lost developmental time) Enunwa if Gailey sticks around, Marshall plays out contract. RB - Ivory wont last 3 years. He is not even getting through this year. Bilal is a JAG. Stacy worse. Ridley a JAG. No one here TE - No one. Literally CB- Skrineis foundational guy. Cro one year rental. Revis will play out contract, doubt we re-sign. Marcus Williams maybe as corner (definitely not at safety as yesterday showed) MCDougle has not shown much, Milliner not healthy enough to build around S - Gilchrist Unlikely we resign Pryor unless really cheap. Really hurting here OLB- Mauldin (though Bowles does not seem to play him) and....no one. Coples not good., Pace slow and ancient ILB Davis is a JAG, Harris plays out contract. Neither foundational guys. DL Leonard Williams. Mo? At what cost? Sheldon ? Possibly, but he is a blockhead. Snacks? Should be but run stuffing NT sometimes price themselves out of teams Coples again, no... We are in trouble long term. From what I can see our core players are: Leonard Williams, Sheldon Richardson. Mo Wilkerson (but unlikely we keep all), possiibly Mauldin Skrine, Gilchrist., Devin Smith, Carpenter That is just an incredibly short list of core young players for our team. We could really be looking at 2 or 3 rebuilding years coming up. We just have very little core young talent to build around. Seems like most teams have a really strong group of players to build around. From what I can see we don't. What do others think.
CrazyCarl40
This is the NFL. If one of your core players isn't the QB, the rest doesn't really matter. No teams actually rebuild, not with the draft and free agency. I also wouldn't be too quick to write off Amaro at TE. Not yet anyway.
JetPotato
I think none of it matters without a QB
jamesr
A bit too soon to say if we will / won't resign Pryor ... he's only in his 2nd year, and has come on a lot this year.
predator_05
Lot of old players and young players, not a lot of guys that are in their prime other than Ivory.

Can probably keep Pryor on the list if he continues to play like he has so far this season. Considering Marcus Willams was a UDFA and also a CB not a Safety who has been having a pretty good season I would say he has a pretty decent shot and being good for us for a long time. Dion Bailey has also looked pretty good in the two games we have seen him play in and is a great young safety for Depth and possibly more? Thompkins is a young receiver who looked hungry for play time and to prove himself against the Raiders (he has only had one game with us so Way to soon to say) but there is a possibility something could come from him. I personally still have faith in Amaro though that doesn't count as it is only my personal gut feeling (I was a big Pryor supporter while most were not) My biggest concerns are at QB, RB, OLB and I am sure they will be addressed. I feel like Macc and Bowels are pretty good at evaluating talent (who really wanted Skrine and Gilchrist or thought they would be as good as they have been?). I could see them hitting free agency hard again this year and bringing in guys most of us wouldn't think about.
