As Coughlin stated yesterday, how could someone catching a pass in the end zone establish himself as a runner?  There is no running after two feet are down or the ball breaks the plane.  Play is over.

the snobs are trying to take a poorly worded and ambiguous rule and say it has only 1 interpretation

No he's not, they made the right call.  the rule is bad, the call was not.

Pretty much this, the rule is awful, and it is a catch, but the rule was interpreted correctly. Couhglin has some balls, his team gets away with murder every single week, and the refs kill his opponents. I actually think its as bad if not worse than the benefit the Pats get every week.

I don't think there really is a rule for it in the end zone so they use what they have in place for a catch before the endzone.  The receiver has to establish himself as a runner but in the endzone the offensive player can never be a runner  (not referring to kick off returners of course).
