80- Bullock has kicked off 38 times with 18 touchbacks and a 23.3 return average and he's an 87% FG kicker this year (13-15). While Nick Folk before the injury strangely enough had almost the same amount of tries 39 KO's but only had 13 TBs and a 23.2 average return. His FG% this year was 81.3% (13-16) So STATISTICALLY SPEAKING, this year, they are basically the same guy with the one exception; Bullock's touchback ability on kickoffs

Interesting.  Glad he's an upgrade on TB's, but I think your FG % statistic is still flawed because of what I mentioned:  The Jets don't trust him with 50+ kicks.  If they did, his % would likely drop.  He also has a missed XP on his resume.

For a scrapheap kicker with a reputation for being very unclutch, Bullock has definitely exceeded expectations.  But the moment Folk gets healthy I'll want him back.

We've given up the least amount of sacks this season.  Our running game has not been great, and yes the OL could do better at that, but Ivory also misses a lot of holes.  He takes blame as well for our running woes.  "Serious weak link" goes way too far when describing our OL.  Either you're implying the rest of the O is full of HOF's or you are severely discounting the OL.  They're not the Hogs of Washington, but they're not that bad either.  You wanna see bad go watch the Giants game.  That OL is horrid.

As I saw it, in the second half, we got dominated at the point of attack.  Especially up the middle.  It didn't lead to a ton of sacks, but it stopped us from being able to move the ball when we needed to.  The running game stalled, and Fitz couldn't generate much.  We need to do better at holding that off to close out games.

I'm not so sure about that 80-I certainly don't want him anointed the job as soon as he's ready because like i said, all of the kickoffs that sail out of the back of the EZ is something that this Jets fan has watched year after year other team's kickers be able to do that while we NEVER had one who could. It has really helped our coverage units-which was a weak spot and may have cost us a game or two earlier on

Making FG's are more important than kickoffs.  It's up to us improving our coverage unit, not up to the kicker to always kick it out of the back of the EZ.

Everyone would like to do that.  But slowing him down at the line would mean putting a LB on him.  Then, when he breaks the press defense with ease, he'd outrun our slow LB for a 30 yard pickup.  Would that be preferable?

We put Revis on Gronk a bunch, and the result was that he got a pick on a throw intended for Gronk and the guy was also kept out of the end zone like Carl said.  What more can you ask for?

do something like Rex did , put  D lineman and slow him down getting off the line , most of the passes are timing passes ,make the timing off

Grok as much as I hate to say it he is a beast. At best you can control him and that is exactly what the Jets did on Sunday. Be happy with the result stop looking for negatives. Bye the way Grok gets moved around a lot my guess is he sees less than 50% of his time in the traditional T-end formation.

The greatest feat of all was beating a team that was holding on virtually every play, yet was only called for ONE PENALTY the ENTIRE GAME. The Jets dominated the LOS on both sides of the ball, and Fitz and the receivers came up big when it counted most. Outstandingly called game from Chan as well, and special teams are stepping it up. We are seeing a team that is well balanced at the moment - kudos to the coaching staff. Let's take down Rex and Co. next week and steamroll into the playoffs on a six game run!

You realize that Folk was a scrapheap kicker with a rep for being very unclutch also, yes?

The Jets OL is one of the better lines in the league. T could be upgraded. C is also slipping. Nothing drastic yet IMO.

two year rebuild process

Fitz gets rid of the ball quickly, and is great at climbing the pocket. He's the opposite of Geno. That has made the line look much better than in previous years.

It's weird how compete quarterbacking influences the while team.

Nice recap- this game we also got good special teams for maybe the first time this year.

I actually thought they were excellent against Tenn...couple of solid outings recently...it's about time.

There was a punt return towards the end of the game that featured a blatant hold aand a block in the back right in front of the side judge. No flags.

The Pick was more a result of an under thrown ball.  Gronk was actually open. If Brady puts enough air under that it could be a TD the other way. I think that was a big turning point.  He also missed a wide open Gronk on another long throw.

agreed. Also note that Carpenter has been a tremendous asset. Winters played well yesterday also.

He was cut by Dallas because of an injury, and has several years of success in the swirling winds of NY under his belt. Bullock needs to show he can make a 50+ yard kick before getting anointed.

I'm not saying I'm unhappy with Bullock. Just that Folk is better. Period.

Who would've thought mallet would've outplayed Big Ben? Over a sample size of approximately one game anything is possible. It amuses me when people write a guy off and crown another after 60 minutes of football. These guys are all professionals and 99 percent of them has the tools to get in the zone and play their jocks off for a game. Likewise they are human and any of them can lay a stinker in any given game.

What are you talking about?  We've been one of the best teams in the league all year at shutting down TE's.  Only 2 TD's allowed to TE's all season long.  Sure Gronk had a nice day, but he's the best in the game for a reason.

Jets fans need a lesson in sample size and P values

Gronk been beat the jets for years and everyone knew he was going to get the 4 and 7 ,the Jets just let him run down the field, I like to slow him down at the line, Dallas TE had a good game

Quick someone get this man a helicopter and police escort we need to get him to Jets HQ to share his secret plan with Todd Bowles.

I hate wine and cheese. I like beer, chicken wings and loaded nachos.

I will take D, all of the above

Except that if Winters could have held on to a ball that he fell on all by himself the Pats would have been down 17-6 going into the 4th quarter.

Rookies Mauldin and Williams had very good games and are coming on at exactly the right time.  Mauldin has what, 4 or 5 sacks? If Bowles had started playing him more earlier he woul probably have 7 or 8.  Williams put good pressure on Brady all game and was a monster in the run game.

they are both playing great.  Williams has had back to back his best games of the year.
