Just a reminder of how far we've come

The schedule analysis that fans/media bring up is so stupid.  The LEAGUE
gives us our schedule we don't pick it ourselves.  On top of that you never
know who is going to be good when a schedule comes out.  Before 2015 started
it looked like we had 10 games against "tough" teams:

IND - was in the AFC championship game
PHI - won 10 games
MIA - made splashy moves that had the media picking them to challenge NE
NE - won the SB
BUF - made splashy moves that had the media picking them to challenge NE
HOU - trendy pick to challenge IND
DAL - was a tough call away from going to the NFC championship game

Did anyone say we pick our own schedule? We had a very weak schedule, and we still missed the playoffs. Point is, we couldn't win enough EVEN with a weak schedule that the "league" picked.

And what happened in 2014, has no bearing on 2015.

Respectfully disagree

It does matter. You have to start somewhere. I get that every season is different and that we can easily end up 5-11 next year. But I thought this was a good first year for a new HC/GM combo. I just liked what I saw on the field.

The Jets have a long way to go but you have to build a foundation for long term success. If you like the combo of Bowles/Mac than you have to be happy with year 1. We have a solid foundation on defense and if we can address certain needs on the offensive side of the ball we have a chance to build long term success

The problem with "having to start somewhere" is that we've been stuck in 1st gear for the longest. The problem has not been starting, every team starts with the same record. The problem is finishing. And though every season is different, the unfortunate fact is that more often than not the Jets didnt properly finish by the end of the season.

It gets to the point where the excuses and "having to have a start" gets old.
