jetscrazey
Not a lot of surprises, pretty fair overall. I actually think James Carpenter had a better season than some of the guards on that list, but he was almost too "under the radar" even by o-linemen standards. These position labels get funky sometimes. Chandler Jones is a DE but Von Miller is an OLB, but I think they do the exact same thing for their respective teams, if anything Miller puts his hand in the dirt and rushes more often. It's a shame Mangold wasn't one of them, because he's clearly in the top 6. Anyways, it may be better for us as its a leverage tool when it comes time to renegotiate. Villain The Foe
I have said for a long time Wilson is better than Luck. Obviously Luck got injured but he was playing super poorly before then as well. There were a few here that thought the same. But you know, with the hype and media coverage alot of poeple jumped on that Luck hype train. The dude is talented for sure, but most leading up to the season continued to just give this man the throne as the best young QB when Wilson has shown that Luck isnt even the best QB in his draft class. And this isnt just based on Jets forums. Its not like its been a super hot topic here, but specifically on sports podcasts/vids etc. Anytime I hear talk about great QB's Andrew Lucks name is not just thrown in, but when its actually mentioned people have to actually take a detour from the initial conversation just to further emphasize how great he is, either presently or ceiling wise. Meanwhile Wilson is dominating the league with playoff wins superbowl appearances and a world championship. And he's usually the afterthought. You know how it goes, during that Luck convo someone will mention "Russell WIlson" and they'll be like "yeah, he's good but ANDREW LUCKS....OH MY GAWD". Its straight comical at this point. TuscanyTile2
I wonder what the Jets' all-time team would be. I only really started watching the NFL in the early 80's so there will obviously be holes in the below. I also got lazy and stopped here. Correct me where I'm wrong (which I'm sure I am). QB: Namath RB: McNeil, Martin FB: ? TE: Schuler WR: Marshall, Keyshawn, Wesley Walker, Chrebet OL: D'Brick, Randy Rasmussen, Marvin Powell, Mangold, Jim Sweeney, Kevin Mawae (too many C, I know), Siupeli Malamala DL: Klecko, Gastineau, Lyons, Salaam, Wilkerson, Sean Ellis. In the future: Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams. LB: Mo Lewis, Marvin Jones, Lance Mehl CB: Revis, Aaron Glenn S: K: Leahy P: Dave Jennings
