Ohio State NY Jets fan
Deon gave his 2 cents on the play on NFL Network - he stated along with James Harrison - that the Burfict hit was NOT dirty. Hmmmmm. NFL is fixed, actually do not feel bad about loss to Bills now, the end of that game was unreal

Powpow
Yeah. The whole thing was a total sh*tshow, officiating-wise. The refs lost control of the game the second Burfict and DeCastro hit the deck, and never got it back. Bizarre. Really bizarre. So many different opinions though. Deon backs up Burfict as well as James Harrison from the Steelers WOW. Boomer and the rest of the CBS NFL analysts are calling for Marvin Lewis to be fired immediately. WOW. But yet NO ONE IS CALLING OUT JOEY PORTER. I don't get it. How can this be totally overlooked and not be spoken about.

GimmeShelter
Deon gave his 2 cents on the play on NFL Network - he stated along with James Harrison - that the Burfict hit was NOT dirty. Hmmmmm. Wasn't anywhere as clear cut as Nash made it out to be. The brief replay they showed looked to be he hit him with his shoulder and was not leading w/the helmet. Not sure if the defenseless receiver rule came into play. Still, you just cannot fumble on that last possession.

Powpow
45 yards in 8 seconds, Zebras decided the game, Roger must have made the call, LOL Goodell...'Oh sh*t 22 secs left. We need ratings. Quick, call a penalty on that Cro Magnon LB and another one on that psychotic DB. Ahhhh whew that was close. Denver vs. Pitt ....Ahhhh that's more like it. That was almost my azz.' Rexorcism
Exactly. The penalty should have been called on Porter for being on the field not on Pac Man. He has no reason to be on the field and start arguing with the Bungle players. Total bullsh*t. I can see when a head coach goes on the field to check on an injured player but an asst coach talking smack to opposing players in that situation is just absurd. Lets not forget tho that this Burfict shlt has been going on all year and the refs warned both teams before the game...Then the Bengals and Burfict act like idiots the whole game anyway so the refs didnt give them the benefit of the doubt. Still no excuse for Porter being on the field. PERIOD. Burfict was penalized already. He accepted that. He walked away and even tried to apologize to Brown for the collision when he was being taken off the filed. When Porter came on he started yapping and all hell broke loose. Brown was injured and only medical staff and head coach, I believe, are allowed to be on the field.

Still, you just cannot fumble on that last possession. Exactly. Deon said if Burfict wanted to hurt him he could have totally taken him out. BUT as you say, Brown was defenseless, thus the penalty. Deon's argument is Burfict had no chance to avoid the hit since it was a reaction bang bang play and he only hit him with his shoulder tucked into his body. The helmet is practically impossible NOT to be hit on a play like that thus it should not have been called since he didn't lead with his helmet. jetscrazey
Is the NFL ever going to reach that point of saturation where they actually start losing fans and viewership because of the rules changes? Player safety is a big deal, but Antonio Brown's helmet was so low to the ground it was pretty much impossible for Burfict to hit him anywhere else. In real-speed it's pretty damn hard to turn away at the last moment and avoid a helmet level so low. 20 years ago that's a "great play" by Burfict and Bengals go on to win. Penalties like these are going to happen, you have to live with them, and it came at the wrong time. However it was still a very difficult field goal at that point.... Pacman's penalty is the inexcusable one. He should have been ignoring Joey Porter's provocations and focusing on the next play Truthfully, it should have been offsetting penalties on the Steelers coach and Pacman. It's sad that one ref's judgment played such a big deal in deciding this game. Pacman still deserves it though.

They did show it. Porter was talking so much sh*t Burfict grabbed him by the jacket and looked like he was going to clock him. He must have said something to Pac Man because he flew into the picture like a crazed fool going after Porter. He totally baited him into it. Pac just went after Porter and the ref was in the way. The real penalty should have been on Porter. If it had been the other way around, Porter would have been penalized for 1 - being on the field and 2 - instigating. Total bullsh*t. NYJ37/12
1. Bengals should have taken a knee 3 times, then kicked the fg. No need to run a play there, see giants vs Eagles. 2. Burfict's hit was flagrant and the penalty warranted. Stop with the excuses. 3. Steelers should have been flagged for porter being on the field and starting a fight. He's a defensive coach with no business being on that field. He was not there to check on brown, he went straight for burfict. 4. Marvin Lewis needs to be fired.
