HELLO NYJets STARTING QB - if no return of TheFitz :-( - for the 2016 season:

Matt Moore - QB -  Dolphins

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins plan to move on from free agent backup QB Matt Moore.

Moore should generate interest toward the top end of a typically weak free agent QB class. Moore holds career marks of 7.0 YPA and 58.9 percent completions with a 33:28 TD-to-INT ratio and 13-12 record across 25 NFL starts. Moore is this year's top free agent quarterback per Rotoworld writer Ray Summerlin, who spends much of his spare time editing Moore's attributes on Madden.

With all these DE cuts and DL value/talent in the 2016 draft, THERE will be no PREMIUM PAID in the market for Mo. Sucks for us and I hope he realizes he'll make more with the Jets by signing LongTerm.

Or he may just play out his tag this year, pocket the near $16m, and look to hit the market next year.

Turn that frown upside down.  This is one QB I wouldn't mind bringing in to compete for the starting role.  If Fitz can't be signed for McCown type money.

In theory and in an ideal world.

Yet a 29 year old DE (his age for the '17 season) a year removed from a broken leg that required surgery won't find the BIG JJWatt contract he's looking for in the open market in '17- especially with this year's STRONG DL class. He simply won't find the FAT CONTRACT he's rumored to be looking for; the new CBA makes younger talent SOOOO much cheaper.  Jets have apparently offered Mo for some time and there are no takers because, IMO and unlike other idiots who post here & starred in TropicThunder :-), he's OVERVALUING himself. I want him as a Jet for life, but not at the pretty penny HE THINKS He's worth.

Hell, Jets could even sabotage and diminish his 2017 FA market value by playing Williams, Richardson & Simon + whomever DL drafted in '16 more than Mo. No sense in doing that since you're paying $16M for the year, but HARDBALL is hardball.

He'll only turn 28 during the 2017 season (born 22nd Oct 1989)

The butthurt is strong with this psycho.

- Wilkerson's 28 in 2017, and would be a top 5 FA yet again.

- Broken legs aren't long term injury risks without outstanding circumstance.

- This one is a gem by itself:

HAHAHAHAHAHA, Mr. PussyKitty at it again. Child please. Someone inform this neophyte twat that his diatribe and nitpicking is about as useless as its worth to society.

Oh oh, someone's having a breakdown. No need to get yourself all in a tizzy big guy. You're very powerful, that's obvious, and maybe sometimes that can be stressful.

The Patriots cut former Bills TE & Fitzy primary target in Buffalo Scott Chandler who excelled in Gailey's offense

Hate to take Belichick's sloppy seconds but he played pretty well didn't he? Any TE on any roster is better than anything the Jets have

Good point!

seems tricky to find legit tackle numbers online ... But you'd think Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood would have to be over that ... 14 seasons , 151&1/2 sacks

According to the Rams media guide prior to 2015 he trailed Merlin Olsen by 14 tackles.

I hope Jets coaches are going over the tape on Chandler to see if he can still play. Last season he was 23-259-4. I've always like him as a player.

Matt Moore hasn't thrown a pass that meant anything in about 5 years. Definitely the guy you should bring in to be the starter.

It's a good point. He has been buried in Miami behind Tannehill. He was at one time a promising Qb who played well for the Panthers but he re-signed with Miami and has been only a backup almost never playing. A few years ago I was hoping we would sign him esp the year Geno came out and we didn't really have a good option as starting Qb. But now not sure. He can be signed pretty cheap, cheaper than Fitz. But I'd overpay Fitz (a little) over him.

And for the hell of it.........

Alfred Morris - RB -  Redskins

ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini pegs free agent Alfred Morris as a potential fallback option for New York if it can't re-sign Chris Ivory.

Ivory is expected to try and command $4 million annually on the open market after staying mostly healthy with the Jets the past couple seasons. Morris is likely being viewed as a bargain-bin running back coming off a horrible year with the Redskins after coach Jay Gruden essentially kicked him to the side in favor of rookie Matt Jones. Despite his 5'10/224 size, Morris isn't a tough, rugged inside runner for a power offense. He fits best in a zone-blocking scheme.

i'd welcome Morris to the Jets.  would prefer Miller, but we dont have much money to play with as of now.

Brandon Carr - DB -  Cowboys

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys will release Brandon Carr.

Carr is owed $16.5 million over the next two seasons. He'll only be back if he accepts a pay cut. The Cowboys would save $9.1M if they designate Carr a post-June cut.
