The Jets would never go into 2016 with Geno as the #1 option. That's not happening. The fan base would revolt.

No they wouldn't only a small group you and your henchmen.

Well who should QB the Jets then!

We go with Geno or Petty unless of course Macc can pull the deal of the century and acquire Kaepernick

Free agent DE Quinton Coples is visiting the Rams on Monday.

Coples had a physical with the Panthers in early March, but the two sides did not work out a deal. Miscast as a 3-4 outside linebacker with the Jets, the former No. 16 overall pick would be a good post-hype signing for a 4-3 defense. The Rams could use some depth at defensive end after cutting Chris Long.

Jets re-signed WR Kenbrell Thompkins to a one-year, $1.67 million contract.

Thompkins was a restricted free agent tendered at the original-round level. The ex-Pat caught 17 passes last season, playing 285 snaps. We wouldn't consider it a given that he keeps his place on the 53-man roster.

DAMMIT

Patriots signed DE Chris Long, formerly of the Rams, to a one-year contract.

It made too much sense after the Patriots shipped RE Chandler Jones to the Cardinals via trade on Tuesday. Long will step in and fill the roster void, though we're not going to ink him into a starting spot just yet. Long hasn't put much good tape on film the past two years as he's battled injuries, and he turns 31 later this month. Still, it's a fine landing spot for Long, who's determined to breathe life back into his career. Long has 54.5 career sacks in 114 games.

How are we going to defend the Pats 17 different TEs!!!!

I wonder if they are preparing for a Gronk holdout or something...

I know my guess is BB is up to something, who can defend all those TEs...........leave it to the Patriots always a step ahead of everyone else meanwhile we sign Davis at TE who I thought was decent but really sucks

Ex Jets TE Cumberland works out for Patriots

The New England Patriots reportedly kicked the tires on a few offensive players on Wednesday.

The Patriots had wide receiver Mike Williamsand tight end Jeff Cumberland in for workouts, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Herald.

Williams, taken in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, last played for the Buffalo Bills in 2014 after playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the previous four seasons. He recorded 8 receptions for 142 yards and one touchdown in nine games in his one season in Buffalo.

Cumberland was released by the New York Jets this offseason after six seasons. In 2015 he had 5 receptions for 77 yards in 15 games.

Patriots signed NT Terrance Knighton, formerly of the Redskins, to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.

Concerned about Knighton's ever-troublesome conditioning, the Redskins were also only offering one year, but apparently less money. Although he's coming off a down season, Knighton provides a massive body for an interior line where the Patriots (effectively) mixed and matched post-Vince Wilfork in 2015. Going on 30, Knighton was highly effective in 2014, and can still be a disruptive force in the middle of a defense. He's reportedly in much better shape than he was last year, shedding 30-40 pounds.
