For the and RB Chris Ivory, it's a 5-year deal that's well north of $6M per year.

LOL wtf, FIVE YEARS???

OMFG Idzik has infected their FO with his stupidity

i will bet $$ Idzik had something to do with them drafting Dante "The Bust" Fowler over Leonard Williams

Idzik is lost in another world.  How you give an average two down rb that contract lolz

Something happened between Bowles & Ivory last year. Love that Jets keep everything in house now but Ivory spent way too much time standing on the sideline. Bowles is probably old school, meaning you better be available for the BIG GAMES.

Up and coming team... probably low guarantees and front loaded, they have to spend money this offseason. He's not oging to be there for five years.

Fowler's a bust because he tore his ACL?

Interesting.

Well that and he spent his season organizing fights between different baby mamas and taping it.  So worth passing on Leonard Williams.

Wow, $6M for Ivory, yikes.

Hope we can still resign Bilal, but it's looking like we are drafting a guy now....

Not just $6 mil, $30 million over 5 years.

I don't know what is the more asinine contract him or Bradford. At least Bradford is a qb

While Mac is sitting back watching everybody spend their money like water. That Ivory deal is ridiculous

he's sitting back cause he spent it all last season.  we just don't have money.

his first order of business should have been giving Mo a long term deal and not waiting until we had to franchise him for 15.7M.

Not if he wants Watt or Malik Jackson money. He's not worth Watt money.

Plus if we trade him, that money goes away. It's one year in a rebuilding plan, what's the rush?

Mo's a better player then jackson.  he's going to, and should get, more then him.

When it was clear that Mo was a top DE, which was 2 years ago, Mo should have been extended for a lower average salary using some of the salary cap that was wasted on Harvin and Cromartie.

Now, in what would appear to be a Woody Johnson driven move, they are insisting on extracting some "value" from letting Mo walk by franchising him.  However, the Jets are applying $16mm of their precious resource to a position that they already have 2 other good players at.   Malik Jackson, who is probably not as good as Mo, has just set the bar higher.  This a DL deep draft.  Unless we are missing something, what teams are going to want to give up a valuable high draft pick to sign Mo for $100mm?

They blew it with Mo.  They should move on.  Pull the franchise tag if they can (Mo has not signed it), let him sign with someone else, take the compensatory pick, and use the cap room to sign some players on the lines who can help the team in the long term.

I would then extend Richardson to a fair contract that provides guaranteed money IF HE IS NOT SUSPENDED.  For his own good, he should not get any cash upfront.

If a team thinks he's a final piece, they'll trade for him

Again, I think people have to realize that the Jets are not in win now mode. They only signed everybody last year to buy time to rebuild the team

you are not in win now mode when you have no qb.  mccags first priority is still grooming a qb.  he was speaking about drafting one every year just a few weeks ago.
