nyjunc
Carolina will compete, that team will be very young and have too much talent. Unless they all buy in to the team concept which would be shocking considering there are 3 one and dones on that team and Allen will be playing for draft position. It's a good problem to have though. I will never understand why any big man would want to play at duke.
AzogtheDefiler
Like Okafor? Or the Plumlees who won the National Championship? Duke will be deep, talented and can actually slow play Giles early on to make sure his knee is 100%.

Okafor was an aberration, the plumlees vastly underachieved in college thanks to the way they were used. Big men for K are rebounders, foulers and passers to the 3 point shooters. This is a definite top 10 team that can compete for the Final Four, a lot of experience and a lot of talent. Not as much talent as a few teams out there but they should be able to compete with anyone. Ummm Jackson was going in 2nd rd at best, he will help UNC but he really isnt that special of a player. Look at Brice Johnson last year.
nyjunc
ACC/Big 10 challenge matchups are out. as usual duke is at home. Amazing how they play what was supposed to be down IU team at home last year but IU is expected to be much better and no return trip but I love that the heels play a tough road game at IU, it toughens teams up. I really believe the rare road game duke played at Wisconsin was HUGE in their run to the title 2 years ago so I am glad they get another home game against what should be a down MSU team(of course they wouldn't have played MSU last year).

nyjunc
my mistake on MSU last year. they weren't highly thought of until early in the season, going into the year they weren't thought to be a top team and they are expected to be preseason top 10 this year. I think their season depends on 2 things: health of Giles how they mesh w/ having so many big time players that have an eye on the NBA next year. Cal has done a good job w/ this, K did a good job 2 years ago but it's not easy to replicate year after year. They will be fun to watch(as fun as it could be watching a bunch of big time players become floppers and hackers) and they could run the table but I wouldn't bet on it. the ACC is going to be very good again and I think they will get picked off once or twice before the Tourney. nyjunc
The season starts tonight, this should be a nice pick me up from this disastrous Jets season. I am not 100% sure what to expect, I think this team has a chance be title contenders. The Pinson injury hurts but hopefully he is back for the beginning of ACC play, if Hicks can stay on the floor he can be a big time player(this was the case for Brice Johnson entering last year so I am looking for a Brice like leap from him), can Justin jackson play all season like he does in March? it's going to be a little smaller team but one I think should be able to shoot from 3 better(despite losing Paige). I would expect they'd be top 3 in the ACC in the reg season and a top 3 seed in the Tourney. Ceiling of Nat'l title, floor losing in the rd of 32. nyjunc
The Heels are looking good, yesterday they faced a very good mid major. One some "experts" put the heels on upset alert for and the Heels beat the by 40 and it could have been much worse. Only 2 games in but feeling pretty good about this team. they will lose some games they shouldn't but they have all the pieces to avenge last year. nyjunc
Good night in college basketball w/ the heels cruising to another win and duke going down. I know they are banged up but losing when your opponent shoots less than 50% at the line and less than 12% from 3 isn't a good thing.
