I think the hiring of Chris Mullin will, slowly but surely, have an impact. Remember, when he took over in 2015, they were coming off a strong year but had lost tons of people. They went 7-24 his first year. This year they're 12-14. And their 2 top scorers are both freshmen: Lovett and Ponds are each averaging 17+. And Ponds was a 4-star recruit. Their # 3 scorer (Ahmed) is a JUCO transfer. In 2017, they have another 4-star recruit coming in. He's a 7-foot, 260 lbs center from Miami, ranked the # 22 center in America. They also got a 2018 commit from a 4-star small forward within NY. Give it time.
nyjunc
St. John's has had a good year actually, they have some really good wins and they seem to be getting better. they aren't far off from being a quality program again.

JustInFudge
My boys drop 115 on the road, looking lights out. They can score and play up and down or they can grind it out in a defensive battle. Mark White has a solid versatile team. Unfortunately we lost our rim protector, John Egbunu. Torn ACL. That one could hurt come tourney time.

I remember watching the amityville horror his senior season in high school after he committed to SJU and he just went coast to coast for the tomahawk jam like 7 times, I had never seen a high school kid do that before. I hope they become relevant again. Louie dragged me out of a line at a camp when I was like 14 to make me do slide steps one time, it was like being coached by Jesus, lol
nyjunc
the injuries never stop for the Heels. Kenny Williams is likely out for the rest of the year but at least Hicks was back and hopefully Pinson can stay healthy. it would also help if they can play NC State every game, 2 games against them and they beat them by a combined 75 points. nyjunc
the Heels are playing well, huge game tomorrow night against Louisville which ultimately could decide the ACC regular season title. Syracuse has takena step back and are a bubble team again, they have their own huge game tomorrow. if they can beat duke they will be in good shape. a week ago I didn't think they;d have to win that game but now they almost have to. this week's AP poll: AP TOP 25 RANKINGS UPDATED (02/20/2017) RANK TEAM (FIRST PLACE VOTES) SCHEDULES/RESULTS POINTS PREV 1 Gonzaga (59)Overall: 28-0Conference: 16-0Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/23 at San Diego 10:00 PM EST 02/25 Brigham Young 10:00 PM EST 1618 1 2 Villanova (5)Overall: 26-2Conference: 13-2Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 Butler 9:00 PM EST 02/25 Creighton 3:00 PM EST 1556 2 3 Kansas (1)Overall: 24-3Conference: 12-2Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 TCU 7:00 PM EST 02/25 at Texas 6:00 PM EST 1503 3 4 ArizonaOverall: 25-3Conference: 14-1Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/23 Southern California 10:00 PM EST 02/25 UCLA 8:15 PM EST 1356 5 5 UCLAOverall: 24-3Conference: 11-3Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/23 at Arizona State 9:00 PM EST 02/25 at Arizona 8:15 PM EST 1316 6 6 OregonOverall: 24-4Conference: 13-2Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 at California 9:00 PM EST 02/25 at Stanford 4:00 PM EST 1297 7 7 LouisvilleOverall: 22-5Conference: 10-4Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 at North Carolina 9:00 PM EST 02/26 Syracuse 2:00 PM EST 1267 8 8 North CarolinaOverall: 23-5Conference: 11-3Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 Louisville 9:00 PM EST 02/25 at Pittsburgh 12:00 PM EST 1138 10 9 BaylorOverall: 22-5Conference: 9-5Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/21 Oklahoma 7:00 PM EST 02/25 at Iowa State 4:00 PM EST 1108 4 10 DukeOverall: 22-5Conference: 10-4Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 at Syracuse 7:00 PM EST 02/25 at Miami (Fla.) 4:00 PM EST 1014 12 11 KentuckyOverall: 22-5Conference: 12-2Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/21 at Missouri 9:00 PM EST 02/25 Florida 2:00 PM EST 943 13 12 West VirginiaOverall: 22-6Conference: 10-5Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/20 defeated Texas 77-62 02/25 at TCU 2:00 PM EST 908 9 13 FloridaOverall: 22-5Conference: 12-2Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/21 South Carolina 7:00 PM EST 02/25 at Kentucky 2:00 PM EST 822 15 14 PurdueOverall: 22-5Conference: 11-3Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/21 at Penn State 6:00 PM EST 02/25 at Michigan 4:00 PM EST 807 16 15 CincinnatiOverall: 24-3Conference: 13-1Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/23 Memphis 7:00 PM EST 02/26 at UCF 3:00 PM EST 733 18 16 WisconsinOverall: 22-5Conference: 11-3Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/23 at Ohio State 9:00 PM EST 02/26 at Michigan State 4:00 PM EST 713 11 17 SMUOverall: 24-4Conference: 14-1Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/25 at Connecticut 12:00 PM EST 554 19 18 VirginiaOverall: 18-9Conference: 8-7Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/20 lost to Miami (Fla.) 48-54 02/25 at NC State 12:00 PM EST 427 14 19 Florida StateOverall: 22-6Conference: 10-5Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/20 defeated Boston College 104-72 02/25 at Clemson 12:00 PM EST 419 17 20 St. Mary'sOverall: 24-3Conference: 14-2Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/23 at Pepperdine 10:00 PM EST 02/25 Santa Clara 10:00 PM EST 375 22 21 Notre DameOverall: 21-7Conference: 10-5Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/26 Georgia Tech 6:30 PM EST 322 25 22 ButlerOverall: 21-6Conference: 10-5Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 at Villanova 9:00 PM EST 02/26 at Xavier 3:30 PM EST 295 24 23 CreightonOverall: 22-5Conference: 9-5Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 Providence 9:00 PM EST 02/25 at Villanova 3:00 PM EST 178 20 24 MarylandOverall: 22-5Conference: 10-4Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/22 Minnesota 8:30 PM EST 02/25 Iowa 6:00 PM EST 159 23 25 Wichita StateOverall: 25-4Conference: 15-1Statistics | Schedule | Roster 02/21 Evansville 8:00 PM EST 02/25 at Missouri State 12:00 PM EST 153 26 Others Receiving Votes: VCU (22-5) 39; Northwestern (20-7) 25; Iowa State (18-9) 22; South Carolina (20-7) 12; Southern California (21-6) 10; Dayton (21-5) 9; Middle Tennessee (24-4) 8; Oklahoma State (18-9) 7; Minnesota (20-7) 5; Monmouth (23-5) 2; Miami (Fla.) UNC Asheville came as close to a 16-1 upset as there ever has been back in 2012. A blown call saved Syracuse from a history-making upset: Asheville's HC, Eddie Biedenbach, later was an assistant coach for UNCW for a year. nyjunc
Carolina clinched the 1 seed in the ACC Tourney and need 1 win in the last 2(or a loss by FSU, UL and ND) to clinch another outright ACC title. Roy now has 8 ACC titles in the last 13 years, an amazing accomplishment in this Conference and coming into this year losing the players he lost last year and everyone thinking duke was going to runaway w/ the conference while the Heels are kind of running away w/ it. Just incredible. he's such an underrated coach.

nj meadowlands
Just for fun, I noticed that UNC lost to UVA. UNC scored only 43 points against UVA. Villanova scored 61. UNC lost to UVA. Villanova beat UVA.
nyjunc
just for fun, in TWO games against UVa Carolina shot 14 TOTAL FTs, in one game 'Nova shot 24. UVa shot 20 against Carolina and 3 against 'Nova in 2 games against 'Nova despite only those 14 FTs attempted and 20 for UVa(vs. 24 for nova and 3 for UVa) Carolina was +14 and 'Nova was +1. how come you didn't come by when 'Nova lost the other day to another one of their creampuff opponents in that weak conference? anyway, Carolina played poorly. it happens. they had already clinched the 1 seed in the ACC and it will be more fun to clinch the outright title at home beating duke. Actually, I did. And simply **scrolling up** makes it even easier to refute that statement than your typical line of horsesh*t. Try again, Spicer.
