They weren't go after Fitz anyway. They already have Sanchez as the Vet. Plus Lynch is a year away anyway.

Elway and Kubiak will have Lynch ready Week One ... just like it all began for Elway a rookie in '83.

You can keep repeating that lie as much as you want and it will still be a LIE.  Myles Jack was passed on BY EVERY TEAM because of his injuries. How can you possibly complain about passing on him at 20????   Mac has a career in scouting plus hired AN ENTIRE NEW SCOUTING DEPARTMENT and you know more than all of them, right? Jesus Christ....

BTW Myles Jack is listed as 6'1 225llbs so please stop already.  Lee is the same height and is 7 pound heavier. If he is undersized what does that make Jack?

A lot better then Lee, considering he was smaller then him and actually could bring pressure and take on olinemen. Not to mention how much better his instincts were compared to Lee's.

Edit: Lee according to wikpedia was 218 compared to Jack's 225. Point still stands, Jack is a hell of a lot stronger then Lee is and is fast enough to also cover wr's.

Also, have you ever watched this guy play? I posted a video where the guy demonstrated atrocious instincts and pass rushing ability/block shedding. You have yet to counter any of the points I made besides yelling out the same tired insult about how guys more knowledgeable than me passed on him, while also discounting the fact that a lot of these times these guys are dead wrong about prospects like what happened with Carr.

No idea why fans ignore this. Jack might need surgery before he plays a single down. Plus his comment about lasting a few years in the NFL is alarming.

I think Jack's injury concerns are as much of a red flag as Lee's size/strength and lack of instincts are. Difference is, Jack is a way better player than Lee is, hence how he is worth the risk.

And that is where your thinking is wrong. This has nothing to do with winning the SUper Bowl this year. This has to do with the future.

We are thinking about the future by signing Forte?  By plugging our LT hole with Clday, who, assuming he stays healthy has a $10M cap hit in 2017?  Translation: one year rental.  We are thinking of the future by completely ignoring our QB position?  So when do we get our QB? And when we finally get one, will Marshall, Mangold, and Decker still be relevant?  This team is a season or two away from a complete rebuild on offense and the only players we have in the pipeline are Devin Smith, Enunwa, and Jace Amaro.

But keep throwing first rounders on our defense.

DL-3 #1 picks

LB-1

DB-3

Entire offense - 1 (10 years ago).

is this how you build a team?

in a league that favors offense?

Myles Jack is 245.  As of his combine measurements.

Here's more tape of the guy. Pretty much I've given up all hope on this guy as a lb, he's pretty much a safety/another db at this point. So Jets still have a huge glaring hole at pass rusher and still needs better lb's, great. Take note, he gets beat on his first play by a hawaii wr in coverage, not a great look considering the competition. Also, only time he ever gets pressure is when he has a free rushing lane, he's fast as hell I'll give him that, but don't expect this guy to be beating o-linemen. They as so much as breathe on this guy and he's out of the play.

List of a just a few Mock Drafts coming into tonight....

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/mock-drafts/mike-mayock/326209 - Lee going 17th to Atlanta

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/mock-drafts/daniel-jeremiah/326210 - Lee 17 to Atlanta

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock-draft - Again Lee to Atlanta at 17

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15309087/2016-nfl-draft-nfl-nation-mock-draft-picks-results-order - Yet ANOTHER mock with Lee going to Atlanta

What do all these mocks have in common other than Atlanta picking him?  THEY ALL HAVE HIM GOING BEFORE THE 20TH PICK.  SO ALL YOU ******* IDIOTS WHO KEEP CALLING THIS A BAD PICK PLEASE SHUT **** UP ALREADY!  Okay, I am all better now....

YOU SHUT THE **** UP! He's undersized and according to anonymous sources, his stock fell due to his medical coming up positive for scurvy. Only you would want a weak, vitamin C deficient, smurf. We might as well crushed up our first round pick into a fine powder and dropped it off at the Old Miss table. This team is a joke.

Dude.

In this game he is in his second year of playing college football.  (He red-shirted his freshman year after having played high school CB and QB).

He is the exact same size as this Lavonte David, guy...but faster, and more explosive in all of his testing.

http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/lavonte-david?id=2532828

p.s., ^this guy has had the 3rd most tackles in the NFL, two years running, and has been in the top-ten (leading tacklers) since coming to the league, so lets pretend for a second that being (6'1, 232) isn't the end of the world when it comes to on-field production.

I'm not dinging him on his size. Myles Jack was 225 and was both able to cover tight ends and shed blockers. My problem is he's not a lb, he's essentially another safety/db, he doesn't have the strength/ability to take on olinemen. He fits our defense considering how we have the people to keep him clean in the run, but it's frankly disappointing cause we could have gotten a complete lb in Jack, but instead got someone who is weak against the run and is, for all intents and purposes, a safety. I can see why they drafted him, we were getting killed by tight ends/rbs and he does have the speed to cover those guys, though he'll probably get out muscled by tight ends, but nonetheless it felt more like a luxury pick than an actual need.

Please help me end this rumor that Myles Jack was 225.

He is by far my favorite prospect in the draft.  And he weighed 245 at the Combine.

If his knee bone is falling off his leg bone, I can understand why teams are shying away from him, and can even see why we drafted Lee instead.  Lee will never be a block-shedder, his game is navigating paths around the blocks, or beating his blockers with speed.  At least that's what his write-ups say.  Either way, for now he's a Jet.  Even if he's just a HUGE safety, he's fast as hell, and that is exactly what Bowles has been wanting on this defense since his last game presser.

He struggles with that, he has an uncanny ability to get himself blocked, it's amazing really.

The Hawaii game was his second of the season. He still gets 2 sacks and a pass defended.  Is it possible you're just being nit-picky?

Nah, the pick is growing on me as I consider how he'll be used in this defense. He does have flaws though, and he does seem to get blocked, almost purposely, really easily. Guys got no moves to juke out blockers in the open field. His 2nd sack was really impressive though, showed off his insane speed. Still would have preferred Jack, and still hope they get him in the 2nd, or Jaylon Smith in the third, but nonetheless I'm a lot less negative about it then I originally was. He needs a lot of coaching up though, and needs more urgency drilled into him, cause with his speed I expect him to be sprinting towards the line every time it's a running play and not just leave it to his team mates to make the tackle. Also needs better play diagnosing ability, a little slow reading if it's a run play or not, hence how he needs coaching up in that area.

He's going to have to take on linemen playing ILB. Also, he played with a bunch of other 1st rounders at OSU.

Ummmm.... he'll be playing with a bunch of 1st round Defensive Players on the Jets :spin:

Not sure how Bowles will use him, but I trust our brain trust.

Let's show the kid some love, 'cause you don't have do overs in the draft

Some of you guys don't understand anything.

darron lee is not a safety, he is an inside linebacker.

its funny watching people trash lee when he is basically the same size and intangibles as Bobby Wagner who is a top 5 ILB, but fell to the second because he was on the smaller side. Plenty of great ILB under 6'3 chill out you guys, we got a steal.

I hated this pick when they announced it but after thinking more this morning it reminded me of the Vilma pick which I also hated at first.

Most expect 1st round linebackers to be large block shedding punishing tacklers or fast tall pass rush specialists and Lee is neither. Like Vilma he has the body of a bigger safety.

If he can go on to have the type career Vilma did I would be happy.

Which is why he is going to work hard at  perfecting his technique. Having a guy like Harris out there with him should do wonders for him from that stand point .. He will get stronger with NFL training...  If u can get a Shazier , Bowman , Wagner caliber player out of him it's a great pick ..

Why does everyone want this Myles Jack kid when i keep hearing his knees are phucked up?  Why should the JETS go after someone like that?  I can see maybe take him in the 7th around if he is available but not your 1 or 2nd pick when there are all these ? with his knees.  you want production right now not two years down the road.

i just hope we don't do anything stupid , like draft an offensive player, tonight. That would really bother me.

Relax. Itbdoesnt matter who we pick in the 2nd. It'll be a bust anyways.
