Mike135
Breakdowns on the kid are a bit scary talking about his accuracy issues. Hopefully it was just a bad coach and protection that caused it. The big plus I see is, he's a Pro Style QB! Holy crap! Who knew the NCAA could produce a non-gimmick QB?

I tell Fitz nice knowing you. Sign Hoyer. Hoyer and Hackenberg both have history running the Pats offense. If we bring Fitz back its after he accepts half of what he was offers prior to the draft

NYJetsVets91
Absolutely terrible pick. waste of a second rounder... no one was gonna take this guy in the second round. probably third as well, could have at least traded back for a later pick. I'd rather have Geno starting than this guy. this is the first pick by Maccagnan that I hate. hopefully it's the last.

More ironic than appropriate. The guy hasn't played a snap yet in the NFL and he's inanely being attacked. As for Chad he made Tannenbaum look like a jerk when he dumped him for Favre and CP kicked ass for the Fins and was runner up league MVP and knocked us out of the playoffs.

Because I think it means Geno starts this year and we don't waste money on Fitz. 2. Because I think Hack can actually become a good QB. I'm tired of all the gimmick QBs. He has the size, strength and smarts to get the job done. I'll be pulling for him to develop into a good QB. 3

Popular Post Integrity28
The kid ran the Pats offense as a college freshman. He made pre-snap reads, audibles, and looked the part. The more I think about it, it would have been stupid not to roll the dice on him. We are a franchise that has not been able to find a QB the conventional way... so maybe taking one every year until you find one, and making high-upside QB picks outside the 1st round, we'll finally hit paydirt. I dunno. Mac's philosophy is to "never miss" on the first 3 rounds. I have to think he wouldn't make this pick without weighing it against that philosophy. Also, 2nd round QBs don't cost you your job. Not if you manage the situation around them appropriately, which I can see happening here with this FO.

Watching it now, thanks for the suggestion and thanks @parcellsguy for posting it. Good stuff. But damn, this kid may need a year vacation or counseling just to recover from PTSD from that horrible Oline. Hack was gettin' KILLED. At least we know he's tough and can take a beating. Edit: Good omen? Watching Hack launch it deep had me imagining Hack to Devin Smith. Then the commentator actually mentions Devin Smith @14:55.

Teams take 2nd round QBs as backups in this league now. We've got two 2nd round QBs and a 4th round QB on this roster. One of them will come into his own. We have decades of equity built up towards a payout from the law of averages.
