Beerfish
He sucks and whoever our QB is will get killed as all of the people that stomped all over Dbrick wonder why the next LT is not A) competent and B can't play every snap for 10 years.

The bigger question is how effective is Ryan Clady going to be. I think he will play in all sixteen games , but can he overcome that lisfranc injury. I think you're missing an a or two. He's shown promise. It depends on who the QB is, and how long they hold onto the ball.

LIJetsFan
In the past it seems this team has always had 3-4 unresolved issues going into the season. This year we seem more stacked. IMHO our only issues are OL and QB and neither seems fatal. Serious yes, critical, perhaps, fatal, probably not. So things are looking up.

I agree & I actually think Bowles now has the speed & players to start really implementing his nickel defenses where he can keep the same group on the field without being exposed somewhere. With Lee we could be seeing some interesting combinations, as he's got a lot to work with, Revis, Skrine, Coleman, Gilchrist, Pryor, Jarrett, Lee, Jenkins, Henderson, Reilly, Carter. There's going to be very little space for opposing offenses to work in & then you look up front and you have Mo, Sheldon & Leo! Not many teams have that kind of stud talent up front. Our defense is going to be very exciting next year, we just have to get through that 1st third of the season.

Absolutely right. I've heard Jets fans talk about Milliner in the same exact way. Like these guys can control the fact that they're injured. Like this isnt a violent sport where most already play hurt. SMH

Absolutely no positivity whatsoever. I feel like these type of negative people almost want them to get hurt so they can quickly log in and tell everyone the traditional "I told you so speech." Hope they get hemroids. Real big ones.

Expecting n hoping are two different things. Nothing wrong if someone expects Clady gets hurt. We all hope he doesn't.

SMH Nobody wants any of these guys to get hurt, but it's the nature of the beast. Guys get injured all the time and are more than fairly compensated for it. How much money has Milliner made for about 20 games? Way more than he should have. Injuries are mostly fluke in nature, but it's not wrong for fans to come to expect the guys that get injured all the time to continue to get injured. It's not any different than expecting a WR who gets 1,000 yards every season to get another one, it's just through a different lens.

It surely sounds like fans wouldnt mind, the way they joke about it. How much has Milliner made for about 20 games? More than I'll probably ever see in life, but I wouldnt say "more than what he should have" given that the contract he signed must have covered sport injuries. The fact that he's even injured is because he playing a game he signed the contract for. Also, its a rookie contract that he signed while hurt....which is Idzik's fault for spending a top 10 pick on a guy who was injury prone in college. I cant blame that one on Milliner. Generally, I see your point though. Though the initial post wasnt even about Milliner but about Clady. Clady was one of the best tackles in the league before he was hit with those injuries. How many times do we see players out perform their contracts? Yet we dont see teams trying to rectify every one of those situations. I could understand if a guy is playing poorly, but making a thread taking cheap shots at player injuries is just cold bro.

I don't disagree, but you have to look at who starts the thread and just realize that they don't know any better. It's a viable topic for discussion, the lack of offensive line depth the Jets currently have (and the lack of viable starters), but the OP was very crass in their topic starting, which is no surprise given who it was. We expected everything he did in return.
