What @EM31 doesnt understand is that we didnt trade one probowler to another.

Sure, Percy Harvin has had BEAST moments in his career, but it was just that...MOMENTS. Brandon Marshall is not just a 1x probowl return specialist like Harvin. Marshall is a 6x probowl WR (Probowl Wide Receiver EM31, not return specialist), a 1st team All-Pro (Harvin has never even been a 2nd team All-Pro), league leader in TD's in a season in 2015 (Harvin has never even been close). Percy Harvin isnt even better than Eric Decker, to even compare Harvin to Marshall like there's no "significant difference" is just total disrespect and is obviously coming from someone who doesnt know what they're talking about.

Brandon Marshall is a 1st ballot Hall of Fame wide receiver, Percy Harvin is a 2009 probowl "return specialist". Learn the difference. No one should disrespect greatness like that.

and after leaving the jets last season, Harvin played about 5 games before retiring. A shell of his former self

Folks, you all need to ask yourselves this question, before sharing your opinions on anyone's leadership and level of maturity.

At the same age as Geno, how mature were you ?

At the same age as Geno, would you have been able to go into a group of men who were older and much more experience at there profession then you and lead the group with confidence.

Everyone here talks a lot of crap about Geno and how he's not mature enough.

Think about it friends, because most rookies coming into the league have a difficult time just fitting in the first year or two.

Now factor in the fact you are thrown to the wolves your rookie year, in one of the nations brightest media markets, just how many of you would not stumble at best and fall flat on

your butts at worst ?

And Harvin's former-self barely matches Brandon's worst season as a WR.

Was Harvin ever really a WR? He's more like a gadget WR/RB who was electric in space but I don't remember much of his earlier career

I understand very well.  Marshall was an upgrade but that does not make Percy Harvin nothing.

Kerley/Nelson/Salas vs. Kerley/Enunwa/Thomkins.... Really?

Running backs = Same

Offensive line Same or better for Geno's team

So the bottom end of the receiver roster turns the worst offensive talent in the history of the NFL into a Top-5 offensive talent. ..... ***gong****

No it does not no matter how much the three of four of you want to spin it up that way.

You mean SB MVP Percy Harvin? And did I hear right that you believe that willie colon was a better OL than carpenter last season?

All true ... And also all true is that up til now Geno is the exact opposite of a leader.

No, they only belong in the same sentence when you just don't like someone.  Because you don't have a clue how any of this went down.  Then again you know Geno should have shut up.  Of course without having a clue that he ever said anything, never mind that he did something wrong.

Whixh still brings us to Bowles words.  You dont punch another man in the face over this nonsense.  Debate it all you want

I'm done debating.

This was well documented and I am sure everyone on this board including myself knew exactly what happened (synopsis below).

Geno should be happy you feel he did nothing wrong.

On Wednesday, ESPN analyst and former NFL safety Ryan Clark said that Smith wasn't apologetic about owing money, and he had put his finger in Enemkpali's face and said, "you're not going to do anything about it":

You can't handle the truth( can show you all the proof and you still won't believe it.( in your own little make believe  world) - okay Geno is a great leader whose going to take the Jets to the promise land.   <roll eyes>

Players want to win, and no player going to be so forgiving to an ex-teammate who Jeopardized their season. ( must not have played any sport competitively  to not understand why).

You should look up the definition of proof.  Your opinion isn't fact.  Or proof.

sure as shlt your history is that you don't have a clue of what you're talking about

I believe there was fault on both sides.

You apparently do not.

Free pass from Jet Nut for Geno.  Those who do not learn from history and so forth....

And no, how about YOU move on.  The facts and the outcome are more supportive of my take on things than they are of yours.

One more time because you don't seem to get it.  Under no circumstance are you allowed to do what IK did.  That's why it's an assault. He was wrong.  Yo argue that under your specific circumstance you can assign blame to the victim is stupid.  Period.  You are an ass to argue otherwise. It's what leads to a$$holes shooting attacking cops etc.. Morons who think tiles, laws are open to interpretation.

im done, you'll argue forever like one of your endless C Martin wasn't that great diatribes

Good question. From what I keep hearing from people looking to nullify the fact that Geno had no weapons is that Harvin was replace by an "equally talented WR" in Brandon Marshall.

Maybe its just the two of us that notices something terribly wrong with the comparison.

Sick dude?  This nasty POS included me, along with you, Villian and whoever in an earlier of his posts a nasty story that we're going to eat soggy bread.

Turn around is fair play.

It's not just the two of you.  Anyone with an iota of football knowledge gets it.  Unless you're desperate to make a point where there is none.  Then you make stupid shlt up like Harvin, in a handful of games, nullifies what Marshall added to the team

No one said Harvin was nothing, though making it seem like going from Geno getting Percy Harvin midseason to Fitz having Marshall for the entire season was basically "a wash" is simply dishonest and you know it. Whats worse is that you continue to defend it and you know you're dead wrong for it. This isnt just "Brandon Marshall being a simple upgrade" Brandon Marshall is the best WR the Jets have ever put on a football field. I mean, you would have to go back to Don Maynard to even get close to this guy. I literally mean that, the closest guy to even come close to what Brandon Marshall did this past season was Don Maynard's 1967 season. Thats going back 50 years. To find a WR that has been as productive in his career as Brandon Marshall has, you once again have to go back to Don Maynard. The statement in all seriousness was preposterous and you know that if the shoe was on the other foot and it was Fitz with Harvin and Geno with Marshall you would have made the clear distinction between the two situations given your disdain for Geno. The fact that it requires you to do that based on dislike instead of "the facts being the facts" is why having this conversation this offseason has been such a bore simply because it shows that you guys are really not Fitz supporters but Geno haters. You know that comparison was bullsh*t, and you STILL KNOW that nonchalantly calling Marshall "an upgrade" is still being dishonest.

Percy Harvin "the name" is bigger than Percy Harvin "the player", you know it and I know it. The dude is an athletic freak of nature, but in respects to WR production Harvin has amassed just 4,000 receiving yards and 22TD's in 8 years. Marshall has amassed 11,000 yards and 79 TD's in 10 seasons. Marshall isn't just some piss in the wind upgrade, these guys arent even in the same ballpark, they're not cut from the same cloth in any sense. The only reason why you approached that the way you did was to try and discredit the fact that Geno Smith has had sh*tty targets by trying to associate Percy Harvin (The Name) with Brandon "Machine" Marshall (The Player). Why even do that? You dont like Geno...cool. But you and others continue to make these intellectually dishonest statements like other Jets fans are f'ing jackasses or something and wont catch it. To say "we traded one probowler for another" was such a joke man, and you're better than that because I know that YOU KNOW that the statement had no legs to stand on, yet you went and said it anyway. Geno has enough negatives about his game, you dont have to lie, ah excuse me, be dishonest in order to make him look worse. We're all Jets fans and we've all seen the games so we know what is bullsh*t when a Jets fan that doesnt like Geno does sh*t like that.

No reason to do it bro. Im being serious here. Hold your position, its yours, but you dont have to be dishonest and make it seem like Geno wasnt producing with "all this talent" because Harvin is similar to Marshall at best or just some simple downgrade at worst. Percy Harvin has never been a #1 WR. He may have played the position on the Vikings but his name has never come up in any conversation that I've been around when someone asks "name your top 5 WR's in the league". Marshall is part of that conversation every single year, and his stats and accolades attest to it.

And finally, trading for Harvin in late October means that Geno also couldnt get the best version of Percy given that he came to the team in the middle of the season. This isnt pick-up ball bro. Guys go through minicamp, OTA's, training camp and the preseason in order to digest the playbook as well as to understand what their teammates responsibilities are. Percy became a Jet in late October. That alone should have given you indication that making the "Percy/Marshall" comparison wasnt honest. Yet you did it.

I dont think I've ever seen a Jets player hated by fans this intensely. I have literally heard everything that could possibly be said to make that guy look like sh*t, even going as far as to be dishonest.

I wont even address the rest. Honestly, you've proven that you dont have your emotions in check when it comes to this topic. It gets to the point where its just my fault for even continuing the conversation. And im not tyring to be sarcastic here, im being serious. To watch some Jets fans go down to this level of depravity is way beyond pathetic at this point. What else could I say to people who are willing to go this f'ing far to make a guy look worse than what he is?

Good post.  IMO Geno could turn out to be the leader that makes the Jets soar.
