Also really liked the fact when asked who the young guy Mac likes the most so far, he said Robby Anderson.. Him and J.Marsh are going to wind up on the 53 man roster. Bank on that.

If Jalin Marshall has another game against the Giants like the one he had last Friday, he isn't going to make the team.

On the one hand, I could agree, as there is actually wide reciever depth of talent and youth, but he shows special teams ability, plus the way he makes tacklers miss isn't really something that can be taught, while getting some extra work in on is routes and hands is, though of course we've all seen project WR's not work out, though in this case he isn't some converted track star or someone who didn't play a lot of football otherwise.

Makes the practice squad at the least.

From the very beginning of camp, I've wanted Marshall, Peake and Anderson to make the roster. I still hope they do.

Yeah..I kinda feel the same way.

I really like this regime that our exalted, handsome, God of Fire , Charlie  Casserly, willed upon us from his throne upon the sun.

I would like to see this new regime start keeping and developing the players they brought in. Cut Thompkins to make room for the your WR. Cut Amaro(maybe not a popular decision). **** em all. They ain't Macs boys. They ain't the Mac's scouts picks.

We had a guy in camp last year, Walt Powell, who was great on ST but so-so on offense. People thought he'd secured himself a roster spot with a punt return TD last pre-season (Gints game i think).

He's in Buffalo now after we cut him after pre-season.

ST play alone won't get you on the roster. Especially with kick returns becoming fewer and harder to justify.

I hear ya ... But ST play alone cost us some games last year ... Maybe they change their mind this year :)

Good point. I forgot about him.

Maybe I'm biased, but J Marshall just seems to have a little bit more "it" factor as a football player. I thought the special teams play are what would keep him on the active roster as opposed to the practice squad. I can't see the Jets releasing him.

To have to choose from Peake, Anderson and Marshall, or choose to keep all 3, it's a good issue to have.

Doesn't it make sense if Jets are going to use Enunwa at slot and sometimes at Hback (if Amaro gets a rest), then the team will not need to carry both a blocking tight end AND a fullback, and one of them could go so Jets can hold on to all 3 guys on the 53?

Or do teams want to keep a FB and blocking TE for blocking depth if one of those players gets hurt, or keep a FB because even though little used now, it keeps a set of plays and options in the playbook that forces other teams to prepare for?

Marshall has showed way more promise on Offense this offseason than Walt....I'm not letting one bad preseason game change my mind on that either.

Kellen Davis needs to gtfo. He's brought in to block well and hasn't even shown decency in that area lol...don't even get me started on his catching either.

I thought I'd never see the day when Francessa is at a Jet camp. Good to see that all the bad blood is behind him.

can someone tell me just who pissed him off so much in the past? I don't think that it was Tanny for I do remember hearing him on his show numerous times ( I think Mike calls him Mr.T)

so if it wasn't Tanny, was it Woody?Rex?

I agree...I'd like to see all 3 of these guys make it.  More upside than other veterans like Tompkins and Williams but they may only end up keeping 2....my guess would be Marshall and one of the other 2 rookies.

I believe it was the entire regime. He didn't like Rex and he thought we were poorly run clowns...which was true to an extent. The minute they brought in Macc and Bowles he praised us and expressed his respect and liking towards those two and what they are doing with the team. He's pretty much a fan now lol.

Francessa is pretty emphatic that Geno will be the backup. I agree with him that Qbs that play in second halfs of preseason games have bloated stats. I do hope Petty gets backup duties against the Giants, so we can judge against better competition .

Why didn't Geno have bloated stats?

To me Kenbrell Thompkins isn't a lock to make this team.  He doesn't play specials and
even though he made some nice plays last year I wouldn't risk losing Marshall, Peake
or Anderson to keep him

If MArshall doesn't make the team then Ross will probably have to. Ross hasn't played badly. I think it will be a battle.

Tompkins hopefully will get released either way since he will clear us up some cap space and I don't think he has the upside of the others.

He hasnt gotten much PS action which tells me he will make the team but I dont think he is a lock to make the team.  He is a pro and I am not too sure that we would go with 3 unknowns at wide out. I think that having 2 rooks round out our WR core would be ambitious. Somehow when I first signed up for Instagram I wound up following Thompkins.  Dude is always working during the offseason.  some reason his followers always comment on his socks, pretty funny.

Anyone who watched the redskins game knows he played like sh*t. Simple as that. He didn't help his own case but he will remain the 2nd QB off pure experience.

Franny doesn't watch preseason. You can't look at stats. You have to watch the plays. Petty made some mistakes, but he showed good poise, pocket awareness, footwork, and he has really nice arm talent.

Most important to me is that is is involved with his linemen, and receivers, and constantly trying to get everyone on the same page. Find out what went right or wrong, and get better. I don't have any proof but I don't think Geno does any of this.

His demeanor is off the charts, and he has loads of charisma. This is why he's getting people excited, and the opposite is why Geno can't find a friend.

His take on the Geno/Petty situation was pure, distilled, tabloid media whore.  Say whatever it takes to get ratings/still passions.  Guy is suck a fake, it's amazing anyone buys into it, but :lolNewYorkSportsMedia: so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised.  The absolute worst.

Agreed. What about Ross?

Because Ross plays specials he may have a leg up on Thompkins.  At this point
if I was keeping seven WR's they would be:

Marshall
Decker
Enunwa
Ross
J. Marshall
Peake
Anderson
Smith (PUP)

And out of those, five of them could be used on special teams

If they keep 6 I like the idea of Marshall Decker Enunwa and the 3 rookies....I agree with Crazy Carl.  Why not keep all 3.  Ross is great too but I like the other 3 rookies better

Peake and Anderson have outside ability..they could very well become very solid players. Similar feel with Rontez Miles a few year back.

After watching "Fair Catch" Kerley the last few years, I'd give him a spot just to see positive yards after a punt.
