munchmemory
For us old timers, this is a huge loss. Larz
I met him at the Stamford home he lived in, it was Gilda's originally. He was very nice to a schlub like me. I was so impressed by that horrible loss RIP to a legend
Jetsfan80
One of my all-time favorite actors, comedic or otherwise. IMO, Young Frankenstein is maybe the greatest comedy ever made (if not top 5), and will stand the test of time. RIP.

Klecko73isGod
Another piece of my childhood is gone. His collaborations with Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor will never be matched. His Willy Wonka is one of the creepiest/funniest things I will ever see.

There is a nano second between when the person asks Wilder's character and when "nothing" comes flying out. lol

Like he's expecting a big laugh but he doesn't want it to step on the comeback and the second you compose yourself he hits you with it. It's insane timing. RutgersJetFan
Aside from all the obvious ones, an underrated classic of his is The Frisco Kid, about a rabbi who winds up in the wild west. Really funny flick. My grandmother used to sit my sister and I down with it on the VCR whenever she wanted to keep us quiet for a few hours. What a life. We should all be so lucky to live one like that.

munchmemory
Wilder was also wonderful as a semi-understated Leo Bloom in "The Producers". This is a movie all you young folk should see. Great story with so many incredible moments. Just thinking of "Springtime for Hitler" and the performances of Dick Shawn and Kenneth Mars have me laughing.
