There is no counting how many times this man made me laugh.  One of my all-time favorites.  So many great movies and roles.  Silver Streak, Wonka, Young Frankenstein... so, so many.  RIP Gene WIlder and we will all remember to "Put the candle Back".

"Nothing" is a classic Wilder/Brooks routine used in several flicks.  It absolutely kills me every time.

It's all in the delivery. In lesser hands it's nothing.

You experience Gene Wilder's exasperation when he says it in Young Frankenstein and it's priceless.

Exactly.  There is a nano second between when the person asks Wilder's character and when "nothing" comes flying out. lol

The best is how he gives the "Ovaltine" line time to land before he says it. Like he's expecting a big laugh but he doesn't want it to step on the comeback and the second you compose yourself he hits you with it.

It's insane timing.

For us old timers, this is a huge loss.  One of the funniest people ever to grace the screen.

The great Johnny Depp couldn't shine his shoes as Willy Wonka.  As Dr Frankenstein, he was absolutely brilliant.

I could go on. I remember renting silver streak on VHS and laughing my ass off.

and let's not forget the  Waco kid.

Silver Streak was the first "R" rated movie I ever snuck in to. A true classic.

Aside from all the obvious ones, an underrated classic of his is The Frisco Kid, about a rabbi who winds up in the wild west. Really funny flick. My grandmother used to sit my sister and I down with it on the VCR whenever she wanted to keep us quiet for a few hours.

What a life. We should all be so lucky to live one like that.

Was that with Harrison Ford?

You're a real Michiganer.

Wilder was also wonderful as a semi-understated Leo Bloom in "The Producers".

This is a movie all you young folk should see.  Great story with so many incredible moments. Just thinking of "Springtime for Hitler" and the performances of Dick Shawn and Kenneth Mars have me laughing.

The looks on the audience faces during Springtime for Hitler is priceless.

What a great stunned silence. But, man, when Dick Shawn comes out with his hippy Hitler?  Friggin' insanely funny.

Dick Shawn was the best.  Love Power, baby.
