Even if they IR Petty, he could be the guy they bring back if something changes at the QB position early in the season. Hopefully he's fine and they keep him active but it is an available option. When he returns from IR in a few weeks he'll be getting #2 reps in our offense while Geno takes #3 on the scout team.
