From the scouting reports & videos they "seem" to be intriguing players

Darryl Roberts - seems to be a "long" CB with excellent speed who needs bulk:

Braedon Bowman - seems to be an athletic TE who likes to block.  He's #10 in
the video, very interesting:

Brian Parker - seems to be what Amaro "should have been".  A pass catching TE
who was used to stretch the field.  He's #80 in the video:

Troymaine Pope - seems to have a Darren Sproles / Maurice Jones-Drew "vibe".
He's #24 in the video:

The Patriots were stacked at CB, so Roberts and Leblanc (claimed by the Bears) were interesting cuts.  Roberts is a good player, who was on his way to being their number 3 until he got injured.   Still he's only a preseason phenom, so its hard to know what he's worth in real games.  I'd be worried about the injury for this year, BB usually doesn't give up promising talent that they were high on, unless they are legitimately not going to be competitive for a year or two.

I read this more than once, and still have no idea what it means.

He means the Jets claimed off of waivers two TEs, a RB, and DB (Bowman, Parker, Pope, Roberts) and released players at the corresponding positions, that is, two TEs (Bostick, Davis), a RB (Williams) and a DB (McDougle). His second sentence simply means that the only TEs on the roster are ones who were just picked up and who were not on the roster previously (including through camp and preseason).

Like we said yesterday, that initial 53-man roster released by the Jets 4 p.m. Saturday was just that: The initial 53-man roster.

The Jets were one of the NFL's more active teams on the waiver wire Sunday. The team was awarded four players: Tight end Braedon Bowman (Jaguars), tight end Brian Parker (Chiefs), running back Troymaine Pope (Seahawks) and cornerback Darryl Roberts (Patriots).

3 concerns with Jets roster heading into 2016
By claiming four players, the Jets will now need to free up four roster spots to make room for said players. This could spell trouble for running back Dominique Williams, tight ends Kellen Davis and Brandon Bostick, along with cornerback Dexter McDougle.

Some background on the claimed players:

Braedon Bowman (TE)— An undrafted rookie out of South Alabama, Bowman caught three passes for 32 yards with Jacksonville this preseason. Two of those grabs and 28 of those yards game against the Jets in the preseason opener. Bowman stands 6-4 and weighs 244 pounds. Coming out of college, Bowman was heralded for his ability as a blocker and on special teams.

Brian Parker (TE) — Parker, now in his second year, signed with the Chiefs last season as an undrafted free agent out of Albany. He appeared in one game last season and caught one pass for four yards. In the preseason this year, Parker caught two passes for 20 yards. He stands 6-4 and weighs 265 pounds. Scouting reports coming out of college praised Parker as an equally effective blocker and receiver. In an interview with NFL Draft Diamonds, Parker compared himself to recently-cut Jets tight end Jace Amaro.

Troymaine Pope (RB)— Pope signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State this year. He instantly became a fan favorite. He went from working in a factory, to fighting for his NFL life. At 5-10 and 207 pounds, Pope isn't the biggest runner, but was one of the Seahawks' top performers in the preseason. He ran for 162 yards on 16 carries (6.8 average) and caught one pass for 16 yards. He has some value as a kick returner, too. He averaged 27.5 yards per kick return on six attempts this preseason.

Darryl Roberts (CB)— Roberts, whom the Patriots selected in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft, is a tall, lanky player. He stands 6-0 and weighs 182 pounds. In the preseason this year, Roberts recorded 10 tackles and two passes defensed. He did not play as a rookie. He injured his wrist and was placed on the season-ending injured reserve Sept. 1.
