Quincy Enunwa: WR Quincy Enunwa caught the first touchdown of his career on a three-yard pass from Fitzpatrick to cap the Jets 10-play, 78-yard drive opening drive. The third-year wide receiver finished with a single-game best seven receptions for 37 yards. Ryan Fitzpatrick: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns, his ninth-consecutive home game with two-or-more touchdown passes. He has now thrown at least two touchdowns in all nine of his home games with the Jets. Matt Forté: RB Matt Forté finished with 155 total yards (96 yards rushing and team-leading 59 receiving), increasing his total to 67 games with 100-or more scrimmage yards since 2008 (most in the NFL). The Jets RB now has 1,256 yards from scrimmage in his nine Week-One games, the most in the NFL. With his five receptions, he passed RB Tony Galbreath (490) and tied RB Walter Patyon (492) for most receptions by a running back all time. Ben Ijalana & Brent Qvale: Fifth-year offensive lineman Ben Ijalana made the first start of his career today at right tackle, splitting time with OL Brent Qvale. Brandon Marshall: Jets WR Brandon Marshall recorded three receptions for 32 yards increasing his total to 885 career receptions, surpassing passing WR Keenan McCardell (883) for 21st all time. Sacks: The Jets recorded 5.0 sacks in the first half of the contest, their most in a half since they also posted 5.0 vs. PHI (10/26/03). The team’s 7.0 total sacks ties for the most on an opening day since 1966, while the last time the team recorded more sacks in a game was in 2013 when they logged 8.0 vs. BUF (09/22/13). The 7.0 sacks on Bengals QB Andy Dalton are the most he has taken in his career. Defense: The Jets defense held Cincinnati to 57 total yards rushing, their lowest total since holding JAX to 29 rushing yards (11/08/15). New York recorded nine tackles for a loss, their most since vs. BUF (09/22/13). David Harris: LB David Harris made his 117th consecutive regular-season start at linebacker, the longest streak among active players at his position. Harris finished with four tackles and one pass defensed. Lorenzo Mauldin: Second-year LB Lorenzo Mauldin recorded the fifth sack of his career on third down when he took down Andy Dalton for a one yard loss to force a punt on the Bengals opening possession. Mauldin finished with three tackles and one tackle for a loss. Steve McLendon: Jets DL Steve McLendon recorded the sixth and seventh sacks of his career, matching his season-high from 2012. McLendon’s two sacks are a single-game career best and his five tackles (three for a loss) are the most since he recorded six at BLT (09/11/14). Muhammad Wilkerson: Jets DL Muhammad Wilkerson recorded his first full sack of the season bringing down Andy Dalton on a seven-yard loss in the third quarter. In addition, he also teamed up with DL Leonard Williams for a one-yard sack, finishing with 1.5 sacks, seven total tackles (team high), one tackle for a loss and two quarterback hurries. Wilkerson has recorded a sack on opening weekend in three of his five seasons. Leonard Williams: DL Leonard Williams posted 2.5 sacks, a career single-game high, for a total loss of 19.5 yards. His 11-yard sack in the third quarter is the most yards lost on a sack in his career. Williams finished with six total tackles (three solo), two tackles for a loss and five quarterback hurries (team-high). Marcus Williams: Jets CB Marcus Williams recorded his eighth-career interception in the first quarter to halt the Bengals second drive of the game. The third-year defensive back now has eight interceptions in 22 career games played after leading all Jets last season with six. Special Teams: Undrafted rookie WR Jalin Marshall made his NFL debut at punt returner, kick returner and saw time on offense. Marshall broke free on a 65-yard kick return in the second quarter to set up the Jets second touchdown. He finished with an average of 36.7 yards on three kick returns. The 65-yard return is the longest kick return for the team since 2014 when Chris Owusu recorded an 87-yarder at MIA (12/28/14). On offense, Marshall drew key penalties to extend both touchdown drives - a pass interference penalty in the first quarter and then an unnecessary roughness penalty in the second period.
