As many have already said, while this certainly sucks, the Jets have really no excuse to blame anything on injuries.  For years now they have actually consistently been one of the NFL's healthier teams, so it just throws us off to see multiple injuries happening.  While this year is certainly a bit of a "down" year for the Jets in that department, they are still at absolute worst in the middle of the pack in terms of injury troubles this year.  Sucks for Decker, but next man up.  All preseason long, WR was the one position we kept hearing about being the deepest on the team.  Time for these guys to prove it.  Of course you can't expect someone to just play at the same level as Decker, but Enunwa has already shown a huge step forward this year from last, so that leaves a variety of different players available and only one needing to be able to take on a #3 role.

If he does, that will be disaster.

Every single team will now double team Marshall and Fitz will throw a ton of picks trying to force the ball to Marshall.

One of the young WR's need to step up.

Its been the case the whole year anyways.

This is a pretty brutal loss imo.  So much of what the Jets do on offense was predicated on the Marshall/Decker tandem overwhelming the secondary with size and route tree mismatches.  It was hard to defend and the reason our O was so good last year.

Now things are very much more predictable for a D and coupled with Fitzs poor play, im worried about overloading Forte and Marshall and their health down the stretch.

That's why Gailey must find a way to get other receivers more in the mix.

So is Devon Smith even on the team?

Still on the PUP list, but would actually be eligible to return as early as next week.  If he's healthy, I have to imagine this injury is all that much more of a guarantee that the Jets will be clearing out a spot for him to come back this year.  My guess is they'll probably be using that 3 week practice window allowed by PUP, to get him back up to speed before moving him over to the active roster though, especially considering how long it's been since he's played.

Hard pressed to do with a weak noodle armed QB not all WR's can bail Fitzpatrick out like Marshall does and Decker did quite well.

You really are a broken record.  You feel you have not made your crappy little point enough already?  Look up perseveration and what it is a symptom of.

Is a ton of picks more than 9 in two games? Asking for a friend,

Hey how you doinnnnnnn today?  Sadly everything evolves around the QB we can trade for the best WRs in the league if you dont have a QB capable of getting them the ball it doesn't really matter.

On the positive side, Devin Smith should be back soon.  Of course the negative is Fitz won't be able to capitalize on his strength which is catching the deep ball.    Oh well, by week 9 or 10 perhaps Petty will get the start and we can start taking advantage of the weapons we DO have in Peake, Anderson and hopefully soon D. Smith.

Hopefully we can start to get some production from ASJ too. Marshall / Enunwa / ASJ has potential, but it needs to start to execute on the field.

He tore his ACL in December, right?  He won't be back to full speed until next year.

We've actually had crazy good injury luck for a while. The silver lining is that we're losing Decker in the midst of what's looking to be a trainwreck season anyway.

Is throwing him on iR now their way of conceding the season?
