Decker has Hip Surgery

Recommended Posts

Decker's career, for all intents, is over. He'll make a team for another year or two as a hang on vet, possesion guy and then go on to live in some tropical paradise with his hot wife the rest of his life.

Yikes!  I agree with others who say Decker is done for good.  He showed a lot of toughness for us and was a great fit paired up with Marshall. Good luck with whatever he does post football.

What was wrong with his hip? Did he have a hip replacement if he did he's done no more football.

He's not dumb.  I'd say timid or indecisive.

He's out all of next year. Confirmed!!

Link? I interpreted it as hip surgery first, then once off crutches will have shoulder surgery. Assuming arthroscopic hip surgery then should be off crutches 4-6 weeks tops, then have shoulder surgery. Be good for next summer.

Given the training required to compete in the NFL, it would appear that players who spend the entire off season recovering from injuries come back as a semblance of themselves.

Revis did not train last off season and look at him.

Wilkerson had a broken leg.

Fitz did not practice while he demanded more money.

In all of those situations the team may be better shelving the player or waiting a year to bring them back.

if they bring back Devin Smith this year, it will end disasterously.

If they train, it would not surprise me to see Revis and Wilkerson come back better next year.  Even Fitz could improve if he practiced all off season instead of golf.

Only 1 or 2 of them will be Jets next season.  Decker?  2017 is looking really bad.

If he is cuttable for next season, the Jets save almost $6mm against the cap.

Good lord these loses have this message board falling apart.

He'll get hip surgery, recover a few weeks later get shoulder surgery probably like 9-10 months of recovery total including rehab.

He won't be out for two seasons.

Jets should trade Decker for a first round draft pick.

You should piss up a rope.

He isn't missing 2 full seasons guys. @Barkus and @kdels62 have it right.  Could he start next year on the PUP?  Maybe.  Looks likely, depending on his ability to heal.

2 seasons?  No.

Unfortunately, the Jets have no player on their roster that would fetch more than a 4th round draft pick.

You think any team out there would trade for Mo with his ridiculous bloated contract?

We had a chance to trade him to Tampa before we messed up that opportunity.

I'll believe it when i see it. I'll bet good money 3 years tops left in the NFL, gun to head 2 years left with half the production.

Well, as someone who works in medicine, I hope that isn't a loaded gun you've got to your head.

Oh whatever I honestly don't really care about this team anyway. Hip surgery has him back to 100% I'll shout from the highest rooftop how wrong I was.

Any confirmed reports of what exactly he had done?

He had early confirmation that Geno was now the starter.  Thus the accelerated surgeries.
