I just can't understand what Bowles has been up to this year.  I've lost faith in him.  At least he finally went back to a 3-4.  Let's see what else he remembers about coaching now.

There's a way that seems right to men, but .  Coach Bowles things his way is right. You think your way is right . His way won't get you fired from your Job, but your way and his job with your knowledge of what's going on in the building  is sure to get him fired .

Hoping it's been Petty all along and CS is trying to pump up Hack a bit.

He is just doing what every other coach would do in his situation.  With the high possibility of your number 2 playing and in this situation where can be questioned as in who the number 2 is you wait to the very last minute to announe forcing browns to use up time and resources preparing for either....not sure why that is such s mystery

The Browns aren't preparing for either Hack or Petty

I haven't lost faith in Bowles yet.

i don't think Sheldon Richardson anywhere else but the 3 is a good move, but I think he's been trying to hide/compensate a sh*tty OLB situation. With the way Sheldon has played at the 3, Bowles will stop toying with that sh*t.

This defense is the biggest disappointment of the year for me, but I just cannot single out Bowles for the problems and start calling for his ouster.

If he plays hack before petty, I'll be lighting a torch and grabbing my pitchfork though.

How much % time did they spend on each? You sound like you in the know

Btw I don't think browns are fooled either as it is just an exercise every coach does effective or not...see injury reports

Mauldin played a perfectly ok game at OLB last week.  Same as last year yet Bowles goes away from it.  I call BS.  If it ain't broke then don't fix it.

Balt allowed 11 sacks in 3 games before jets ...their qb in shell shock and beat up...so was their offensive line.

Oh, it's broke. Mauldin hasn't done sh*t. I like what Jenkins brings but his time has been limited. All of our LBers have been sub par at best. Lee has been the best of the group. Lee has also made it obvious what the rest of the group sadly lacks-speed and quickness.

What they lack (mauldin and Jenkins) is they never beat any one on one.

Yes, I haven't seen it this year.

agaun, though, Jenkins is a rookie and was OUT a bit. I think what I've seen from him will make him a starting SAM in this league.

Its Mauldins WILL position where we need to consistently beat OTs with speed and a repertoire of moves. As much as I really like mauldins story, his motor, and his performance last year in limited snaps, he is just not making the impact needed from a weak side NFL LBer.

And that was plain to see in preseason where mauldin was not even beating anyone in 4th preseason game

the only reason you don't just name petty the back-up, elevating him from the #3 spot is he is either not healthy or the GM wants to give his boy a chance, which means he already had the lead going into the competition

I voted hack

if it's not hack, that is really really bad news for him, it means the GM rigged the competition(sorry, lol) and he still couldn't pull it off

SJF, Shade, let's all hope that you two gents are in position to eat some tasty crow after the game :)

C'mon...it's the Browns and their, what, 3rd or 4th QB this year?

if Mauldin has 2 or 3 sacks today, are we to assume he's arrived and our OLB issues are over? I don't think so.
