Despite already having a hilarious name, his teammates decided to give him the nickname of “Ugly”. As if life couldn’t get any worse for the poor guy. Dickshot made it to the major leagues when he was 26 with the Pirates, but only played six seasons after serving the United States in World War II. OH THE PAIN Posted December 28, 2016 Share Posted December 28, 2016 Rusty Kuntz isn’t exactly what you would have called a perennial All Star during his time in the MLB. Kuntz played for the White Sox, Twins and Tigers for a total of seven seasons, and rarely played more than half of a season’s worth of games as a backup outfielder. Kuntz finished his career with a batting average of just .236, hitting five home runs and 38 runs batted in. His coaching career has been better than his playing career, as he is currently a first base coach for the Kansas City Royals. At least he has a 1984 World Series ring.
