SenorGato
The Nats did well in that trade. Eaton's a legitimately good player and the headliner is a pre-injured pitcher. Giolito lost me at the TJ surgery. Lopez is a nice grab for the White a Sox on the back end THO.

Gnats GM Rizzo is determined and aggressive, along with Dusty Faker they're a PITA. They're gonna miss Wilson Ramos tho. I would filled with glee to see Rizzo go down in flames

SenorGato
Steal on Jansen, ****in Dodgers. I know by Steamer projections on FanGraphs they are basically neck and neck with the Cubs. Steamer is kind of lame, but they haven't released the Dodgers' ZiPS yet so that is what's out there. Shucks on Jansen for the Cubs, but plenty of offseason to go. Most of the NL Central teams are set up to be active. The Cardinals have some money to spend in FA, the Cubs and Pirates have lots to trade, and the Reds have some high quality talent to sell in trades. Even the Brewers will almost undoubtedly trade Braun as a pretty big move.
Scott Dierking
Wow, Justin Turner with a 4 year $64m contract to re-up with the Dodgers. Good for him. I never thought that possible when the Mets cut him loose.

RutgersJetFan
I'm shocked that Cleveland went out and spent like that considering how many times they've been burnt. They are really going for it. That's awesome. That roster fully healthy is going to be a problem.
faba
Reds trading second baseman Brandon Phillips to Braves 10:12 AM ET ESPN.com news services Facebook Twitter Facebook Messenger Pinterest Email print comment Long rumored to be on the move, Brandon Phillips is finally leaving Cincinnati. A source told ESPN's Buster Olney on Sunday that the Reds have agreed to a trade that will send the second baseman to the Atlanta Braves. A source told ESPN's Jim Bowden that Phillips passed his physical Sunday and will retain his full no-trade clause with the Braves, which he waived to approve the trade to Atlanta. Fox Sports was first to report that the sides were close to a deal. The Reds will receive left-handed pitcher Andrew McKirahan and right-hander Carlos Portuondo, sources told ESPN. The 27-year-old McKirahan appeared in 27 games in relief for the Braves in 2015, posting a 5.93 ERA. He has undergone Tommy John surgery in 2012 and again last year. Portuondo is a 29-year-old Cuban whose only American experience is 17 games between Single A and Triple A last season. The Braves have a need for a second baseman. Infielder Sean Rodriguez will undergo surgery on his left shoulder and will miss three to five months, according to Fox. Rodriguez, his wife and two young children were involved in a serious car accident on Jan. 28, when they were T-boned by a stolen Miami police cruiser. He suffered the injury during the crash, Fox Sports reported. Trying to rebuild, the Reds have dealt stars over the past couple of years, including Jay Bruce, Aroldis Chapman and Johnny Cueto. Phillips rejected a trade to his hometown of Atlanta earlier this offseason. Last winter he turned down potential trades to the Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals. JohnJ
Well the Gnats signed Wieters. That's fine. But I say they missed Ramos big time last year once he got hurt. Wieters isn't gonna come close to what Ramos gave them.
