Ryan Fitzpatrick 2015 vs 2016

The biggest difference for me has been Fitzpatrick running the ball.

Last season he had 60 rush attempts. 21 of those attempts resulted in a first down, or 35% of the time.  This season to date he has 26 attempts for 7 first downs.  Fitz was more a weapon running the ball last season.  Makes you wonder why that element has been removed from his game.

Any time you can extend a drive with your legs, it puts more pressure on the defense. This is going to help further if you can lean on a strong defense as well.

This may seem revisionist but I used to post on another board the reason why I wanted Prescott. But for different reasons. I felt Prescott, with a strong defense, could help extend drives with his legs. I am surprised to see how well he is throwing the ball.

Marshall and decker carried him a year ago, this year neither was playing as well before decker got hurt.  he still has enough talent to win but Fitz just isn't very good.  he's a good backup, nothing more.

He is only good when defending Rex..... Otherwise he sucks. Tough defending all these agendas.

Last year Marshall and Decker bailed him out on horrendous passes.  This year Marshall has dropped keys passes.

Nothing has changed in Fitzpatrick play, other than his arm is a year older.  He is still inaccurate, stares down his relievers, and forces plays.  Fitz like last year is at best a back up quarterback, and not the best chance of winning games.

Fitz stares down receivers like a horny frat boy staring down freshman girls at a party

Fitz tried to pick on Richard Sherman 3 plays in a row.  Who does that?

Because a high percentage of dropped interceptions, routinely falling his way, is not a repeatable stat other than by pure luck. Defenses tend to catch passes thrown right at them. Anyone expecting this to simply repeat itself was fooling himself.

There's plenty else wrong with this team other than Fitzpatrick, from the FO and coaching to the players they've acquired and coached. But he hasn't helped. Instead it's been, for some, week after week of blaming others for not bailing him out of his own incompetence after holding out like he was worth a damn.

Doesn't matter. While they may get close every once in a great while, ultimately they won't win anything unless a competent GM hires a competent HC and assembles a better roster. But for that to happen the team would probably need to get sold.
