I drove home from both championship game losses. I don't remember a Super Bowl contender either of those years. I am not big into participation trophies though. I don't decide it, it's just the way it is. our fanbase is awful and most deserve the 2016 Jets. we have so few good seasons in our history and fans cannot appreciate them, it's sad to be a part of this fanbase but i'm stuck. I didn't say SB team, I said contender. for the only time in our history we were a final 4 team 2 years in a row. I am sure you prefer 2011-2006 over those years though, right? Im interested. why is BB well under .500 w/o Brady? why do you ignore those facts? 10-5 w/ Cassell is awesome! but some of us can dig deeper, they were UNDEFEATED a year earlier against a MUCH tougher schedule and they MISSED the playoffs in 2008. 2 years later Cassell led KC to a div title but keep believing fairy tales in order to bash any folks that have helped us win in any way. Driving home from both, after walking out of those stadiums was so much fun. Having stuff thrown at you because you have a loud mouth coach that can't back up his statements, that is the best. This might be the worst argument in this history of message boards. You don't give Belichick any credit at all for developing that offense or Brady. No, you play in the Super Bowl you are a Super Bowl team. contenders are those in the running for the SB. they did fall apart in both title games but are you telling me you prefer the 2015 and 2016 jets to the 2009 and 2010 Jets? and I was at Pitt, it was a devastating loss but the further you advance the harder the losses are. I was also at NE and that was the greatest game in team history outside of the 1968 season but rex is a fat buffoon that embarrassed us by leading us to back to back title games. The majority of this fan base does not suck. When you see the parking lot with cars lined up 6 hours before the game. When you hear the stadium loud during a "few win" season, you see that this fan base has dedicated and loyal fans. If you don't agree with what every single one of them says that is okay. They felt like a contender the 1st half of the Pitt game and the 2nd half of the Colts game. True contenders don't wet the bed. Those are called pretenders. I can't believe we are arguing over two of the biggest losses in franchise history and you want Jets fans to be happy about them. And because they aren't our fan base sucks. The bigger point is this. The league caught up to Rex. So let's put those moments aside. Those seasons were fun. But Rex won't be able to deliver those things again. That is why he fired. Yes it was all BB b/c he had been so successful developing QBs and great offenses w/o Brady. they played a bunch of crappy teams and did so w/ a highly rated prospect the first couple of games then beat a bad at the time Miami game w/ that rookie QB. what does this have to do w/ his record pre-Brady which was AWFUL? At least for me, and the Jet fans I have hung around with for decades, we're always there no matter how badly they play. I think that unyielding support gives us the right to complain and moan. I have been to a million games, I went to every single game for over 20 years and part of that including the Coslet/Carroll/Kotite years so spare me the lecture. the stadium isn't loud when they stink, it's not even loud when they are really good. it's a crowd that always waits for something good to happen to get loud. I have been to many other stadiums around the league and our crowd sucks. are there great fans at the stadium and on here? absolutely but overall when we can't appreciate anything the fanbase sucks. Besides Brady BB has coached 4 Qbs that have reached the POs w/ other teams, he has only made the POs w/ one of them. I run the Charlotte jets fan club check out our FB page and website, and we get all kinds of fans. Every color, every borough, NY, NJ, CT . For example...we have a new kid, has been to the bar every week this year, about 27 years old. Moved here alone. We have guys in their 70's. All great fans. I go every week in my Namath jersey.
