Some lucky ass team is going to get themselves an amazing mastermind D.C.! As long as they have 3 stud DL, 4 amazing CB's, and 4 awesome LBers, they should be top 5 in defense every year.

CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS EVERYWHEREERE CHRISTMAS TIME IS HEEEEEEEERE.

I don't have any tremendous negative feelings towards Rex and actually wished him well when he left but some of the posters out here who continued to say "if only Rex were here..." owe everyone a big

From a guy who defends Rex, Tanny and thinks Bill Bellicek sucks.  I think im fine with my assessment.

I understand reading isn't your strong point but I call BB an all time great HC.  if you actually read you'd understand I have said Brady rescued his HC career which is a fact but that BB has developed into a great HC- an all time great HC but it's a chance he never gets if Brady doesn't step in.

you are a typical, awful Jet fan. one down year and you want massive changes then you bash the guys that have actually had success here.  it's why we don't deserve to win.

I drove home from both championship game losses. I don't remember a Super Bowl contender either of those years. I am not big into participation trophies though.

Glad you are the one who gets to decide what other people deserve. That is a pretty special honor.

I don't decide it, it's just the way it is.  our fanbase is awful and most deserve the 2016 Jets.  we have so few good seasons in our history and fans cannot appreciate them, it's sad to be a part of this fanbase but i'm stuck.

Its a shame facts  fail to support your theory.   Your , IF Brady didn't arrive, IF Rex had a QB, IF we didnt fire tanny.

Please remove the word IF from your points and then tell us why REX is a below 500 coach over a 6 year period.  Why BB went 11-5 with Cassel and 3-1 with 2 backups this year.

Oh.. and please send me your link to how to be a great JETS fan.  Im interested.

FWIW... I wont respond.  Im at peace with my opinion.

when you play in the championship game you are a SB contender.  I didn't say SB team, I said contender.  for the only time in our history we were a final 4 team 2 years in a row.  I am sure you prefer 2011-2006 over those years though, right?

Well that is YOUR opinion and I think it is wrong. Because I see die-hards at the stadium week after week supporting this team. I saw over 10,000 people visiting this site yesterday alone to talk about the Jets.

Rex being great is YOUR opinion. Because people think differently doesn't make them wrong. Maybe you are the reason we can't have nice things? lol because you are happy with 4th place seasons.

why is BB well under .500 w/o Brady?  why do you ignore those facts?  10-5 w/ Cassell is awesome! but some of us can dig deeper, they were UNDEFEATED a year earlier against a MUCH tougher schedule and they MISSED the playoffs in 2008.  2 years later Cassell led KC to a div title but keep believing fairy tales in order to bash any folks that have helped us win in any way.

We you play in the Super Bowl you are a Super Bowl contender. Every team in the playoffs is a contender. The Jets fell apart in BOTH of those championship games.

Driving home from both, after walking out of those stadiums was so much fun. Having stuff thrown at you because you have a loud mouth coach that can't back up his statements, that is the best.

first off I don't say Rex is great, second I am not referring to EVERY Jet fan but the majority of this fanbase sucks.  they bash anyone who has every had any success here.

You guys are the oens happy, you wanted Rex gone, you wanted Bowles, you wanted Tannenbaum gone.  that's why we are where we are.

This might be the worst argument in this history of message boards.

You don't give Belichick any credit at all for developing that offense or Brady. Brady was just suspended for 4 games and they rolled. They almost had to play a game with NO QB and they were going to be competitive.

No, you play in the Super Bowl you are a Super Bowl team.  contenders are those in the running for the SB.  they did fall apart in both title games but are you telling me you prefer the 2015 and 2016 jets to the 2009 and 2010 Jets?  and I was at Pitt, it was a devastating loss but the further you advance the harder the losses are.  I was also at NE and that was the greatest game in team history outside of the 1968 season but rex is a fat buffoon that embarrassed us by leading us to back to back title games.

Here you go again, lumping everyone together.

The majority of this fan base does not suck. When you see the parking lot with cars lined up 6 hours before the game. When you hear the stadium loud during a "few win" season, you see that this fan base has dedicated and loyal fans. If you don't agree with what every single one of them says that is okay. It doesn't mean the fanbase sucks.

They felt like a contender the 1st half of the Pitt game and the 2nd half of the Colts game. True contenders don't wet the bed. Those are called pretenders.

I can't believe we are arguing over two of the biggest losses in franchise history and you want Jets fans to be happy about them. And because they aren't our fan base sucks.

The bigger point is this. The league caught up to Rex. So let's put those moments aside. Those seasons were fun. But Rex won't be able to deliver those things again. That is why he fired. He fell short, embarrassed the franchise with his loud mouth and he isn't even as good as the not good enough standard he previously set.

Yes it was all BB b/c he had been so successful developing QBs and great offenses w/o Brady.  they played a bunch of crappy teams and did so w/ a highly rated prospect the first couple of games then beat a bad at the time Miami game w/ that rookie QB.  what does this have to do w/ his record pre-Brady which was AWFUL?

I would argue that the team, not the fan base, are the ones who suck (at least generally).  At least for me, and the Jet fans I have hung around with for decades, we're always there no matter how badly they play.  I think that unyielding support gives us the right to complain and moan.

Well that and we drafted Stephen Hill over Russell Wilson after giving Sanchez $60 million and trading for Teblow

I have been to a million games, I went to every single game for over 20 years and part of that including the Coslet/Carroll/Kotite years so spare me the lecture.  the stadium isn't loud when they stink, it's not even loud when they are really good.  it's a crowd that always waits for something good to happen to get loud.  I have been to many other stadiums around the league and our crowd sucks.  are there great fans at the stadium and on here? absolutely but overall when we can't appreciate anything the fanbase sucks.

Why is that an issue?

congrats on 2016, I guess it's better to be 4-12/5-11 than it is to have a chance at the Super Bowl.

the league caught up to nothing, we had a talent drain.  he hasn't had close to the talent he had early here or the talent we have had here under Bowles.

you know that even w/ BB at 10-5 w/ cassell and 3-1 this year he has a worse record than rex, right?  what about those facts?

I will repost this for some folks to see:

this includes 2008 and 2016 after BB had developed into a great HC. If I only go pre-Brady then he is a spectacular failure.

BB w/o Brady(7+ seasons):

54-63, 46%

1 playoff app

1 playoff win

zero div rd wins

zero conf titles

zero SBs

1-1 career PO record

zero road playoff wins

Rex:

60-65, 48%

2 PO apps

4 PO wins

2 div rd wins

zero conf titles

zero SBs

4-2 career PO record

4 road playoff wins

oh and head to head w/ sanchez he led his huge underdog Jets into Foxboro against BB w/ the greatest QB of all time and beat them handily.

Besides Brady BB has coached 4 Qbs that have reached the POs w/ other teams, he has only made the POs w/ one of them.

Rex has coached one QB that made the playoffs w/ another team and he was a backup for us.

Bradway and Rex were screaming for Wilson.  Tanny said no thanks we're trading for Tebow and drafting a project WR

Agreed. I run the Charlotte jets fan club   check out our FB page and website, and we get all kinds of fans.  Every color, every borough, NY, NJ, CT .  For example...we have a new kid, has been to the bar every week this year, about 27 years old. Moved here alone. We have guys in their 70's.  All great fans.  I go every week in my Namath jersey.  I simply measure success with victory at some point.  Your a good man and BTW...

I still cant post photos????:(

we don't know that to be true and it's comical how Jet fans bashed Bradway for every bad move from 2001-2014 but now they want to back him?  and Mike was far from perfect, every Gm makes bad moves but he built us into multiple SB contenders and has done a good job in Miami so far but I'm sure if Miami makes it we will all prefer that over title game apps for us.

If Rex had Russell wilson he would have turned him in the 2nd on the depth chart and been a wildcat specialist. He never would have learned how to become a qb and would have been out of the league already.

Actually kind of sounds like the way Bowles is handling his   young  QB's.

If I remember correctly Rex threw a very green Sanchez out there with only 16 NCAA starts

The Jets record on the field is much worse than the record of this fanbase when it comes to supporting the team. Totally agree.
