He wouldn't throw his teammate under the bus so everyone figured it was his fault.

Something else no one mention are the 3 offsides petty created woth his cadense.  Cadense so good his own OL are taking bait.

When was the last time we had a QB who could do that? Pennington.

Great news! Petty needs to come out and grow these next 2 games if he wants to start next season.

Hopefully he learned a hard lesson in recognizing blitzes/moving protections around and we won't struggle as much on Saturday.

Let's see...the OC snaps the ball early, the OL doesn't even move, and that is 'recognizing blitzes/moving protections'?  This board is tough in it's evaluations.

Petty has shown more than I expected with a team that's already checked out and a decimated OL.

News flash, he GONNA struggle against the Pats....just like every f*cking other QB, rookie or vet does.

Give the kid time to piece it together...I have high hopes.

But wait just one second everyone told us it was Petty fault he got killed because he from Baylor and he does not know how to do those pre snap read thingy

Indeed that is what Bowles implied in her post game presser, I guess that wasn't correct then...hmmmmmmmmmm

Even if he should be the starter next season it won't happen. The HC and GM botched this so badly, from the insistence on bringing back a future-less veteran, to bringing back Smith ahead of Petty, which indirectly led to Petty getting knocked out for about 2 months, on top of the insistence that Fitz should be starting through week 12. By the time Petty got the starting nod and all the practice snaps leading up to that start, there were so many injuries (particularly on the OL) and the team had clearly mailed it in.

He's a project who needed snaps. Now I'll grant that if he's a zero then no amount of snaps is going to make him the goods, but a project (such as Petty) in dire need of snaps needs more than 4 weeks as the committed-to starter. Unless he's an instant success, the chances of him starting the following season are only based upon the success or failure of the GM finding a veteran starter in the upcoming offseason.

Therefore his next chance at starting will be if/when that next starter gets injured. He should pray the Jets sign Tony Romo, since he'll sprain his knee during his first tour of the practice facility in Florham Park.

This is great news! I am pretty sure Geno played the following week after he bruised his vagina, and that is worse than a bruised chest, so Petty should play this week!

And you have made how many NFL rosters and won how many NFL games, exactly from your couch? While lacking as an NFL QB, he played 16 out of 16 games in an NFL season...which means he played with injuries that would have you crying for your mommy like a schoolgirl and collecting workman's comp for a month or more, tough guy.

Hackenberg has not stepped on the field because he's barely gotten any snaps in practice. Its not his fault we have four freakin QB's on the roster. Its not that we know he cant do the job its that he has not been prepared to do the job. How do we know the Jets simply aren't botching yet another QB by doing nothing (admittedly) with Hackenberg for the entire season.

Like any winning team you need a good coaching staff and we have not had one here since Parcells.

Actually, it kind of is Hack's fault we had four freakin QB's on the roster.  If Hack didn't come in fourth place in a quarterbacking competition that included Geno Smith, Bryce Petty, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, we would not have four freakin QBs on the roster.

This team will officially be in a major rebuild mode in two weeks, everything from many on the coaching staff to lousy, overpaid players. If the Jets are stupid enough to bring in a career loser like a Cutler or Romo next year, and not let Petty or Hack fight it out in camp, they will have home games blacked out. People will stay away from this place in droves.

EY Hackenberg was not part of any QB competition. It was stated from the beginning he would not be involved. Remember the report earlier in the season that they were not even going to work with him this year on his mechanics and the negative reaction to it ? Obviously he's not ready or the Idiot Jets, since their coaching staff deemed him not ready and gave him little to no work. Hindsight is always 20 20 so looking back it was also obvious they were going to go with Fitz thinking this mess of players and horrible coaching had a chance at making the playoffs which made the decision, at an earlier time, not to play Hack since we had the luxury not too.

I mean the way the Jets have handled every QB that's come through here has been poor at best why should we give them the benefit of any doubt in a discussion about QB's and yes that includes the initial evaluation that led them to draft him.
